The Republic of China period was a very chaotic era in the long river of mainland history, but the chaotic world produced heroes, so in that era of warlord division and cultural integration, there were many literati rioters who left their names in history, and there were also many impressive soldiers and soldiers, who all left a strong mark in Chinese history.
Hu Zongnan was one of the outstanding generals, who spent half his life on horseback and devoted the best youth of his life to the cause of war in the country.
It was not until after the War of Resistance Against Japan that the 51-year-old Hu Zongnan asked Chiang Kai-shek to marry Dai Kasa's secretary as his wife, and the life of the two after marriage was very sweet, and later they also had 3 children together, and each of them was trained to become a talent.
Hu Zongnan's education and military experience
Hu Zongnan was born in Zhenhai, Zhejiang Province, and when he was a child, his family was generally well-off, although the economic conditions were not good, but the family attached great importance to the education of his children.
His father did not hesitate to sell some valuable furniture in exchange for the cost of Hu Zongnan's schooling, so Hu Zongnan was sent to a private school to study at a very young age, and from an early age he was exposed to the influence of the Four Books and Five Classics.
Later, due to the popularization of new-style education, Hu Zongnan also transferred to the new-style primary school in the county town with the support of his parents.
Hu Zongnan knew that it was not easy for his family to provide for his own schooling, so he studied very hard in school, and maintained excellent academic results during primary school, and finally passed a very famous middle school in Huzhou with a high rank to continue his studies.
However, after graduating from middle school, Hu Zongnan did not continue to study in college, but in order to subsidize the family to choose to return to his hometown as a primary school teacher after graduation, his leisure time can help his family do some farm work, and he can also play in the attractions near his hometown, and his life is very comfortable and happy.
After a few years like this, Hu Zongnan soon reached the age when he should marry, and his father decided on a family affair for him, but Hu Zongnan did not like the wife that his father chose for himself, and he strongly refused, but there was still no way to persuade his parents to break the marriage contract.
At that time, the wave of revolution swept through all parts of China, so Hu Zongnan, who was forced to be helpless, thought that instead of accepting a marriage at home that he was not satisfied with, he should devote himself to the revolutionary cause and shed his blood for the country.
So he did some odd jobs outside to maintain his livelihood while waiting for the opportunity, and soon this opportunity came, Dr. Sun Yat-sen established the Whampoa Military Academy in Guangzhou, and Hu Zongnan applied for the Whampoa Military Academy under the introduction and sponsorship of his friends, and was successfully admitted.
During his studies at the Whampoa Military Academy, Hu Zongnan became acquainted with Chiang Kai-shek, because the two were fellow countrymen, so the relationship gradually became familiar, and Hu Zongnan had excellent academic performance and a strong ability to absorb and understand new knowledge, and he was quickly valued and cultivated by Chiang Kai-shek.
After graduating from the military academy, Hu Zongnan was assigned to the army as a probationary officer, and because of his excellent performance and frequent military merits, he was soon promoted to a mid-level officer.
After graduation, Hu Zongnan also maintained close contact with Chiang Kai-shek, and later Hu Zongnan and Dai Kasa both served as capable generals under Chiang Kai-shek, so they slowly became familiar with each other.
Hu Zongnan's belief in the loyalty of the Kuomintang and his heroic performance in killing the enemy bravely, as well as his outstanding strategic ability, gradually grew into an indispensable right hand man around Chiang Kai-shek and won Chiang Kai-shek's great trust in him.
Later, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Hu Zongnan had grown into the first military commander among the graduates of the Whampoa Military Academy, but the first war under his leadership and command ended in failure.
However, Chiang Kai-shek did not blame him too much, still attached great importance to him, and later promoted him to a general to encircle and suppress the Chinese Red Army.
In fact, Hu Zongnan's ability to command and lead the battle was not very outstanding, but because of his loyalty and spirit of hard work to the Kuomintang, he had gained great trust from Chiang Kai-shek.
Therefore, later, Chiang Kai-shek sent Hu Zongnan to garrison the northwest region and took charge of hundreds of thousands of troops, so he was also known as the "King of the Northwest", and the scenery was immeasurable for a while.
Hu Zongnan's married life
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Hu Zongnan was 51 years old at this time, and before that, he was preoccupied with national war, but he did not pay too much attention to his life's events.
However, although the sweet love arrived late, Hu Zongnan reported to Chiang Kai-shek soon after: He wanted to marry Ye Xiazhai, Dai Kasa's secretary, as his wife, and Chiang Kai-shek was very happy and cheerfully agreed to Hu Zongnan's request.
It turned out that Hu Zongnan and Dai Kasa were old acquaintances, and the two usually met often, and over time they became very familiar, and the two often attended parties and dinners together.
Dai Kasa was very worried about the marriage of his good friend at that time, so he introduced the marriage to Hu Zongnan several times, but hu Zongnan used various reasons to shirk it.
Until one day, Hu Zongnan went directly to Dai Kasa's office to find him because he had something to discuss with Dai Kasa, and just happened to meet Ye Xiazhai, Dai Kasa's secretary, and Ye Xiazhai's young and beautiful countenance deeply attracted Hu Zongnan's heart.
And Dai Kasa knew that after his friend took a fancy to his secretary, he also actively helped, and Dai Kasa wanted to win over the red man in front of Chiang Kai-shek through his secretary.
He actively created various opportunities for the two to contact, and eventually the two established a romantic relationship and began a sweet relationship.
Ye Xiazhai was also a famous bridesmaid at that time, she was not only beautiful in appearance, but also quite talented, which can be described as both talents and appearances.
After in-depth contact with her, Hu Zongnan felt that this was the lover he dreamed of, and it was also the appearance of his wife in his mind.
However, due to the tight war at that time, although the two people were very in love, they still had to attach importance to the major affairs of the country, and the marriage between the two had to be postponed again and again.
At that time, Hu Zongnan was facing a severe War of Resistance Against Japan, and Ye Xiazhai was also sent to the United States to study, and it was even more difficult for the two to meet each other when they separated, but the harsh external environment did not cut off the contact between the two, and they would still communicate through letters and tell their feelings for each other.
After a few years, the victorious end of the War of Resistance Against Japan was ushered in, and Ye Xiazhai also returned to China after receiving a doctorate in the United States, and the two were finally able to meet.
But on the one hand, after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, there was a civil war between countries, and there has never been a suitable opportunity to get married.
On the other hand, Hu Zongnan understood that Dai Kasa wanted to use Ye Xiazhai's strength to win himself in, and he was unwilling to let Dai Kasa manipulate him, so the marriage between the two of them has been delayed.
Finally, in 1947, when the war was not particularly tense, Dai Kasa had died a year earlier, and the Kuomintang held a celebration banquet after occupying the Yan'an area, at which Hu Zongnan proposed to Chiang Kai-shek that he was going to get married.
And Chiang Kai-shek was also very happy, immediately sent a congratulatory gift to congratulate the two, but also proposed to be the witness of the two marriages, in this way, this wedding that has been postponed finally ushered in its day.
After marriage, he raised three sons, each of whom became a talent
After Hu Zongnan married his wife, the two people were very affectionate, but at that time, the situation of the Kuomintang was already visible to the naked eye, and in the later period, several wars led by Hu Zongnan were quickly repelled by our army.
Hu Zongnan also realized that the Kuomintang had run out of gas and was afraid that he would not be able to continue to compete with the Chinese Communist Party.
Soon, our Party repelled the Kuomintang, Chiang Kai-shek retreated to Taiwan, and Hu Zongnan went with his family, and Hu Zongnan was no longer involved in too many political affairs.
In the first few years of their marriage, because they still had to face war, they often gathered less and left more, and later after fleeing to Taiwan, hu Zongnan spent a relatively leisure and happy time with his wife in his later years.
He and his wife raised three children, the eldest son Hu Weizhen, the second son Hu Weishan, and the younger daughter Hu Weimei.
His three children have developed very good study habits under a good family education, and all three children have lived and grown up in Taiwan, received education in Taiwan and studied at local universities.
Hu Zongnan's eldest son, Hu Weizhen, went to the United States to study after graduating from university and successfully obtained a doctorate.
Later, after returning to Taiwan, he entered the political arena and became the secretary general of Taiwan's "National Security Council", engaged in diplomatic work with his wife for many years after marriage, and was once an important member of Taiwan's officials in the United States.
Moreover, although he has been working for the Taiwan Government, he has always adhered to the one-China principle and resolutely opposed Taiwan's separatism.
After graduating from university, the second son, Hu Weishan, also went to the United States to study and obtain a doctorate like his brother, but later returned to Taiwan and did not enter politics, but chose to continue to study academically and became a university teacher.
A few years later, he became the vice president of Chung Yuan University in Taiwan, devoting his life to education.
The youngest daughter, Hu Weimei, also followed in the footsteps of her two older brothers to study in the United States after graduating from college, and did not return to Taiwan after completing her studies, but chose to move to the United States, engage in literary editing and education, and also served as the president of the Chinese Writers Association.
The three children have all made dazzling contributions in their respective fields, and the three accomplished children are inseparable from the excellent teachings of Hu Zongnan and his wife.
Throughout Hu Zongnan's life, although his family was poor, he still received education with the support of his parents.
In the turbulent times, he decided to devote himself to the revolutionary cause, and then spent half his life on horseback, enjoyed many scenery, and made great achievements on the battlefield.
Although he married his wife a little later, the two were very affectionate after marriage, and they also raised three very good children, each of whom has achieved great success in their respective fields.
Hu Zongnan should also be relieved to see that his children are very good.
