The observation and seminar was co-sponsored by the Children's Film Working Committee of the China Filmmakers Association, the China Film Critics Society and the Guangdong Film and Television Industry Association. "My Physical Education Teacher" focuses on high school physical education class, planned and led by the Guangdong Film and Television Industry Association, co-produced by Guangdong Qunxing Film Media Group, Guangzhou Radio and Television Station, and directed by Zhou Yong, a well-known director in Guangdong. Zhou Yong has previously planned, supervised and directed more than 20 film and television works such as "Lychee Red", "Internet Mother", "Talking Kite", "Filial Piety Jackpot", "Flash Boy", etc.; the films directed by him have won many awards such as the China Film Huabiao Award, the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival and the "Five One Project".
"My Physical Education Teacher" tells the touching story of Liu Haochen, a new physical education teacher, who frequently encounters the "hegemonic class" of other teachers, Liu Haochen tries every means to successfully defend the students' right to take physical education classes, and finally Liu Haochen and other teachers help students take the college entrance examination. The style of the film is youthful and realistic, and there is no lack of rich comedy elements, pointing to the phenomenon of physical education classes being "marginalized".
In addition to the new generation of actors Sun Jialin and Wei Lu as male and female protagonists, well-known actors Tao Yuling, Hou Tianlai, Sun Hongtao, Guo Fengzhou, Wang Yisheng, Shen Taoran, Zhou Haodong, Zhu Hanfang, Long Xinyue, Yu Youchuan, etc. were also invited to participate in the special performance; more than 40 ordinary students starred in the third (2) class of high school students, and the old drama bones and the ordinary students brought the new to interpret a period of hot blood youth in the high school era.
The student actors in the third (2nd) class of high school in the film were selected by the crew among more than 2,000 registered student actors in Beijing and Guangzhou. Most of the students who participated in the show were making films for the first time, and not only had to undergo a 15-day special training in performance, sports skills and Nanbu gymnastics before entering the group, but also had to withstand the high temperature of about 40 degrees Celsius and follow the team for 32 days of hard shooting. Since March this year, "My Physical Education Teacher" has conducted more than 30 roadshows in Guangzhou, Nanchang, Wuhan, Foshan and other places, and more than 20,000 viewers have watched the film, and the film has accumulated a lot of praise. At the seminar, experts and scholars gave high praise to the film, Song Zhiqin, executive deputy director of the Film Art Center of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and vice president of the Children's Film Work Committee of the China Filmmakers Association, commented that "the degree of completion is high, the realism is strong, the literature is real, and the appeal is strong", the performance and comedy style of the film have also been recognized, xu Bolin, president of the China Taiwan-Hong Kong Film Research Association, believes that the film is very fresh, a look is a small cost, but the old drama bone is very dramatic, and the heavy social topic is shot in a very comedic style. Zhao Weifang, deputy director of the Film and Television Institute of the China Academy of Arts, also believes that this kind of youth film is the correct way to open youth films.
