In the final round, Sasaki Yuhana finished with a 2-over-par 73. After four rounds, she finished with a 4-under-par total of 280. Subsequently, Yuhana Saso defeated Japanese player Hataoka Naisa in three rounds of overtime, becoming the first player in Philippine history to win a grand slam in golf. Meanwhile, Sassei Yuhana became the youngest champion in the history of the U.S. Women's Open at exactly the same age (November 17, 19) as Park In-fei in 2008.

Sassei will receive $1 million in prize money and a Mickey Wright Medal, as well as qualification for the next 10 years of the U.S. Women's Open and four other women's golf Grand Slam tournaments over the next 5 years.

Chinese player Feng Shanshan shot 71 in the final round and finished in tie for fourth with a total score of 282 in four rounds and a 2-under par overall result, equaling her best record at the U.S. Women's Open. Lin Xiyu finished tied for seventh with a total score of 285 in four rounds and 1 over par. Liu Yu and He Muni are tied for 46th and 57th respectively.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 U.S. Women's Open was postponed to December of that year and the qualifying tournament was cancelled. This year's race is back in June and a limited number of spectators are allowed to enter the tournament. The 77th U.S. Women's Open will be held in June 2022 at Pine Needles Golf Club in South Pines, North Carolina. (End)
