Alienware celebrates its 25th anniversary with a redesign of the Aurora range of products

author:Ultra Net

Alienware was founded in 1996 to provide the most powerful PCs. Its Aurora series products are not only powerful, but also mostly have a super cool appearance and a high degree of recognition. In early 2006, Dell Computer acquired Alienware as its own enthusiast-grade hardware brand, complementing the original high-performance XPS series. There was a special reason why this matter attracted widespread attention at the time, as Dell Computer introduced the THEN-strong AMD processor into its product line with the acquisition of Alienware.

According to TomsHardware, Alienware celebrates its 25th anniversary and decides to redesign the Aurora line of products. The next generation of the Aurora series will be released with a new design, this time with more industry-standard components and layouts. For example, the current Aurora series uses a swing-out power supply (including some XPS desktops), although it looks convenient, but it is difficult to upgrade, it is rumored that the new Aurora series will not do, but it is not sure whether it is a standard ATX power supply.

The new Aurora series is similar in appearance to existing products, using the same design style, with an overall dimension of 589 x 510 x 225 mm and a weight of 15.5 kg, which is significantly larger than the Alienware Aurora R10. It has 1.5 times more interior space than existing products, and an optional transparent side panel allows users to see what's going on inside the chassis. In the past, there were four RGB lighting effect zones in the Aurora series, and this time there can be up to eight models with transparent side panels. Also on the back of the chassis, there will be a new cable cover.

Alienware doesn't talk much about hardware configuration, and this is a good opportunity at a time when Intel is about to launch the 12th generation Core series of processors with a lot of new features. The new main unit is said to be equipped with up to four 120mm fans and also comes with an optional one-piece water-cooled radiator. Alienware says the new host's cooling system is not only quieter, but also more efficient. The only concern is the motherboard, which may still be some oddly shaped form factor.
