At 7:40 a.m. on April 6, 2022, Xing Yanzi, who had been named one of the 100 Chinese people who had touched the Chinese since the founding of New China, died of illness at the age of 81. The farewell ceremony will take place on April 8.
Xing Yanzi, a once household name. She was received by Chairman Mao 5 times and Premier Zhou 13 times. She was twice elected as a deputy to the National People's Congress, five times as a deputy to the National Party, and three times as a member of the Central Committee. She is a typical example of the new Chinese intellectual youth building a new socialist countryside - at the age of 17, she "went to the countryside" to become a zhiqing, established a "swallow commando team", led rural women to ask for grain from the barren depression, planted crops on saline and alkali land, and changed the poor appearance of the village. Guo Moruo's "Xing Yanzi Song" composed for her was all the rage, and her story inspired and inspired a generation.

On September 14, 2009, Xing Yanzi was named one of the 100 Chinese that have touched since the founding of New China; in September of the same year, she was commended as the "Most Beautiful Strivers" of New China.
