Bai Xiaoman, formerly known as Hu Ruimei, is of mixed Chinese and American descent, and in 1974, director Li Hanxiang found her when he was drinking afternoon tea at the Peninsula Hotel, when the set of Director Li's new play "Sound and Color Dog and Horse" had been set up, the male protagonist was Xu Guanwen, and only one female protagonist was missing. After the interview the next day, Bai Xiaoman went to audition, Li Hanxiang's wind and moon movie "Sound and Color Dog and Horse" was divided into three stories, Bai Xiaoman starred in one of them, playing Yu Juanjuan, a female patient who set up a bureau to blackmail a lustful doctor, many of which were semi-naked off-the-scenes. Bai Xiaoman's name is also given to her by Li Hanxiang, because the "white" character has few strokes and is literally beautiful, and her skin is indeed as white as snow. "Xiao Man" is borrowed from xu Zhimo's wife Lu Xiaoman, hoping that she will be kind and have a bright future.

Bai Xiaoman's death brought unexpected publicity effects to the film "Sound and Color Dog Horse" starring her, which sold more than 2.1 million Hong Kong dollars at the box office and entered the top 10 hong Kong box office in 1974.

Regarding Bai Xiaoman's film works, the online record is a total of three, in fact, it should be two. The first is Hong Kong Nanhai Pictures' "Detective Whirlwind" (1974), an action film directed by Hong Kong director Yang Shiqing and starring Meng Fei, Bai Xiaoman was replaced by the first female lead by the first female lead because she had no acting experience, and the female number one became the Philippine film queen Wei Na.
