Tian Tian, founder and honorary chairman of Beijing Qiao Ai Charity Foundation, mentioned at the launching ceremony that Beijing Qiao Ai Charity Foundation has three keywords, one is internationalization, the other is art, and the third is psychology. This time, Qiao Ai and the Central Academy of Fine Arts jointly launched the art therapy research project, focusing on the research of the academic framework and curriculum system of Chinese localization art therapy, introducing top talents in art therapy at home and abroad, building an international professional teaching team, and regularly organizing international academic exchanges in the field of art therapy, so as to promote the establishment of Chinese art therapy industry standards and evaluation systems. Zhao Li, vice dean of the School of Art Management and Education of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, reviewed the development history of art therapy, art therapy education and art therapy research at home and abroad, and focused on the teaching, research and practice carried out by the teachers and students of art therapy at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in the 1990s, represented by Professor Meng Peixin, from recruiting master's degree students to establishing undergraduate professional studios, from teachers and students to the Art Institute of Chicago to exchange to holding international academic forums. The successful holding of the 2019 International Forum on Art Therapy has brought new opportunities for the development of art therapy majors at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2021, CAFA will take the successful holding of this event as an opportunity to continue to promote the implementation of projects such as the "International Academic Symposium on Art Therapy", and welcome art therapy workers from all over the world to the CENTRAL ACADEMY of Fine Arts to discuss the new achievements and new directions of art therapy. In response, Liu Zhengkui, a professor at the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and vice chairman of the National Psychological Assistance Alliance, first believes that the prospects of art therapy are promising, and there is currently a huge gap in the cultivation of psychotherapy professionals in China. As a kind of healing method that is easily accepted by the public, art can bring the front line of psychological problems closer, especially through the huge system of art schools, museums and galleries to establish a whole network for the prevention of social and psychological problems, which is of great significance. As a psychology researcher and practitioner, Liu Zhengkui believes that art therapy requires interdisciplinary collaboration, and interdisciplinary development can cultivate professionals who meet the needs of the future.
"In the post-epidemic era, the development of art museums is not only their own construction, but also a public scene of 'art institutions + social aesthetic education + social healing'." Gao Gao, deputy director of the CAFA Art Museum, said in his speech that the research project "Art Therapy in the Art Museum" proposed this time has a broad space for development and great social significance. CaFA Art Museum will take art as the guide, take "museum therapy" as the starting point, actively explore the application of art therapy in art museums, face more people, focus on different themes, take the form of online courses, lectures and offline workshops and exhibitions, and dig deep into the multi-faceted application of art therapy in art museums, so that art therapy can truly enter the art museum and truly serve the public.
Xue Liang, director of the Exhibition Department of the Art Museum of the Beijing Academy of Painting, said in his speech that Wu Hongliang, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of the Beijing Academy of Painting, submitted a proposal on the "psychotherapeutic function of art" at the two sessions of the National People's Congress in 2020, and the psychotherapy function of art in the past two years has formed a consensus in society. As a professional art museum featuring the works of master artist Qi Baishi, the Art Museum of Beijing Academy of Fine Arts has always attached great importance to public education and is gradually promoting the work related to art therapy. Xue Liang also used Qi Baishi's works as an example to analyze and explain the relationship between Chinese calligraphy and painting tradition and artistic healing, which provided a good reference for the development of art therapy in art museums.
Huang Yong, deputy dean of the School of Art Management and Education of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, said in his speech that art therapy has gone through nearly 20 years of development in the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and on the basis of the training of master's degree students in art therapy, an undergraduate art therapy studio has been established to cultivate more talents for the professional development of art therapy.
