Developer Endnight Games announced that its upcoming game Sons of the Forest has been delayed.
Children of the Forest is Endnight's Forest sequel and promises more exciting gameplay for survival horror fans. However, this feast of horror will have to wait again, as Endnight wants to ensure the best game is available to its customers, so it postponed its release date by several months.
The developer shared the news on Twitter, writing: "Over the past few weeks, we've realized that our release of Children of the Forest in May 2022 is overly ambitious. “
"In order to be able to realize our vision of the next step in survival games, we have decided to move our release date to October 2022."
In the first game in the series, players play as Eric Leblanc, who is searching for his son after a tragic plane crash deep in a secluded forest. To add another factor to this already traumatic event, players must fight man-eating monsters while surviving in the harsh wilderness.
In a 2014 review of an early interview with Forest, Dan Whitehead wrote: "There is no shortage of survival simulation games on PC at the moment, and although Forest explores similar territory, it is forging its own unique path. ”
"Its atmosphere is subtle and distinctly different, more frightening, and more focused on solitary survival in reality than the chaos of multiplayer games or Minecraft-style construction."
"The enemies in the game are not bloody zombies, but something truly disturbing. This is certainly the first game of its kind that makes me feel really vulnerable and terrified, and it's not easy to do that."
