The Sports Tribunal of the German Football Association ruled on Thursday that Borchenburg's 27th round of the Bundesliga match against Borussia Mönchengladbach, which was forced to beheaded on Friday night by assistant referee Kittelman, was thrown in the stands by a plastic cup containing a drink thrown from the stands, counted as a 2-0 victory for Borussia Monchengladbach.

On the evening of 18 March, assistant referee Kittelman was attacked, and referee Kotus decided to terminate Bochum's match against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Oberholtz, president of the Sports Tribunal of the German Football Association, said: "According to the laws and procedural rules of the German Football Association applicable to all clubs, the match counts as a 2-0 defeat in Bochum because the clubs are responsible for their fans, and the fans' fault is borne by the club. Because of the black-and-white rules in this situation, "it is not possible to replay or make up for the last 20 minutes".

In the 69th minute of Bochum's match with Borussia Möncheng, assistant referee Kittelman was hit by a plastic cup (above), followed by referee Cortus's decision to end the match immediately, when Borussia Möncheng took a 2-0 lead relying on goals from Prea and Embolo. Article 4 of Chapter 18 of the Rules of Law and Procedure of the German Football Association stipulates: "A national match must be replayed on the same venue if it is interrupted without responsibility on either team. If a team or its club, or both clubs, are liable for the interruption of the match, then the game is awarded to the responsible side losing 0-2 and the irresponsible side winning 2-0. If the irresponsible side leads by a larger score when the game is interrupted, then that score is used as the result. ”

Borussia Mönchengladbach can celebrate winning a valuable 3 points.

On Wednesday night, Bochum's defence lawyer, Horst Kleitke, argued that the Club boreund was "not responsible" for the actions of the fans who caused the incident because "the perpetrator purchased the drinks in full compliance" and hoped that the match could be replayed, but the sports court did not accept this reason. Bochum, of course, can also appeal against the verdict. In addition to losing all 3 points, Bochum also faces further penalties. The German Football Association revealed that the Sports Court will impose possible corresponding penalties on Bochum "at a later time". The police have also stepped in to investigate and may file a lawsuit against the fans who caused the incident.

The 2-0 defeat in Bochum by the Sports Court of the German Football Association was entirely expected, as in two other similar cases in recent years, the Sports Court has also handed down almost the same decision. In the first round of the 2015/16 German Cup, Osnabrück vs. Leipzig RB, referee Martin Peterson was hit in the head by a lighter thrown from the stands at the bottom line, and he decided to terminate the match. The game was played until 71 minutes and Leipzig took a 1-0 lead. Afterwards, the Sports Court awarded Leipzig a 2–0 win to advance.

And 11 years ago, when St. Pauli's home match against Schalke 04 was played in the 87th minute, assistant referee Schiffner was hit in the back by a plastic cup containing a drink thrown from the stands (above), and referee Atekin then decided to end the match, when Schalke led 2-0. This is the most recent bundesliga match, which is the same as the latest incident. Afterwards, the Sports Court awarded Schalke a 2-0 victory.
