It is not difficult to find from the above figure that the appearance design of the new Jiaji adopts the "energy storm" front face design in the design route of technology Geely 4.0, and the current Geely Platinum version adopts the "energy string" front face design, so the appearance of the front face has changed greatly. The front grille has changed from the current vertical string grille to the horizontal "flying wing" parametric grille design, and the addition of horizontal elements has a certain effect on improving the horizontal visual width of the front face.
The largest change is the front bracketing grille design, the current Jiaji Platinum version of the front bracket area is relatively small, and the new model adopts the energy storm front face design, the area of the front bracket changes greatly. The front encirclement consists of 5 horizontal grille elements forming a trapezoidal front enveloping grille, forming the popular "big mouth" front enveloping design, and the front enveloping sides are also designed with a more obvious "front wind tunnel" shape, and the inside of the wind tunnel is a newly designed "boomerang" type light group.
The side of the vehicle looks like there is no change, which is a pity. The three dimensions of the current Jiaji Platinum Edition are 4706x1909x1690mm, and the wheelbase is 2805mm, from the proportion of the patent drawing, the three dimensions of the new Jiaji Platinum edition should be the same as the three dimensions of the current Jiaji Platinum Edition, and the wheelbase of the vehicle will not change, so that the interior space performance of the new Jiaji platinum version should be exactly the same as the current Jiaji Platinum Edition. One of the important reasons for the general sales performance of Jiaji model is that the performance of the space in the car is average, and the practicality of the third row is relatively low, so if the space changes little, then the remaining points that can be expected are only changes in price and power.
The tail of the new Jiaji has not changed much compared to the current Jiaji Platinum Edition, and the overall level of the tail has changed less. The changes from top to bottom are the wider high brake lights, the three-stage design of the lower edge of the rear windshield, the through-type taillights and the new model tail light group, the rear encirclement wind tunnel design, and the new model rear bracketing. After the use of the through-type tail light group, the lighting effect of the light group at night should be more eye-catching.
The current Jiaji Platinum Edition is powered by the third-generation 1.8TD turbo engine matched with the 7DCT wet dual-clutch powertrain, which can output a maximum power of 135kW/5500rpm, a maximum torque of 300N·m/1750-4000rpm, a transmission transmission efficiency of up to 97%, and a comprehensive NEDC fuel consumption of 7.5L/100km. The engine is Geely's third-generation 1.8TD turbocharged engine, but in the eyes of many users, this engine is relatively old, which is one of the reasons for the sluggish sales of Jiaji, compared with the competitor Song MAX and Trumpchi M6, the same compact MPV Jiaji basic displacement is higher, which will bring relatively high energy consumption and vehicle and vessel taxes.
Although the new Jiaji has not yet exposed the information on power, but with reference to geely's practice of changing a large number of Thor power to its products this year, the new Jiaji is likely to be equipped with the 1.5T four-cylinder turbo engine of the Thor DHE15 series to match the 7DCT EVO 300s wet dual-clutch transmission, which currently has a maximum power of 133kW and a maximum torque of 290N·m, and the speed is unknown. The transmission efficiency of the 7DCT EVO 300s can reach up to 98%. In terms of power and torque parameters, the Thor DHE15 series is also sufficient to drive Jiaji. If the new Jiaji can be dressed up, it should be helpful for Jiaji's sales.
Finally, in terms of price, the 2022 Jiaji Platinum Edition on sale provides 3 configurations, and the official guidance price is 119,800-142,800 yuan. Compared with the 109,800-159,800 yuan of the competitor Trumpchi M6 car series, the advantage is not obvious. This year's new Jiaji revamp, if you can use the Geely Raytheon Jinqing 1.5T power, then the price will definitely be adjusted, the ideal state is to further reduce the official price on the basis of the 2022 Jiaji Platinum Edition, further reduce the starting price of the car series, and open the market with cost performance. This is the scene that users expect to see.
