Void Valley
(1823 ~ 1896), a famous flower and bird painter in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, together with Ren Bonian, Pu Hua and Wu Changshuo, was named "The Four Masters of the Late Qing Dynasty Hai School", and was known as "the first painting garden in the late Qing Dynasty". Commonly known as Zhu, the name Huairen, the monk's name is vain, the character is virtual valley, alias Ziyang Shanmin, Tired Crane, room name Jue Fei An, Gubai Caotang, Thirty-Seven Peaks Caotang. He was born in Xin'an (present-day SheXian County, Anhui) and lived in Guangling (present-day Yangzhou, Jiangsu). The first General of the Qing Army fought against the Taiping Army, and he was touched, and later became a monk. He is good at painting flowers and fruits, animals, birds, landscapes, and is especially good at painting squirrels and goldfish. His heirloom works include "Plum Blossom Goldfish Diagram", "Pine Chrysanthemum Diagram", "Gourd Diagram", "Huilan Lingzhi Diagram", "Fir Rake Diagram" and so on. He can also write poetry, be good at photography, and work on books.
Looking at the paintings of the Virtual Valley, the calm breath comes to the face, the elegance overflows, flows on the end of the pen, and pours on the paper; the "quiet breath" of the Virtual Valley is also one of the reasons why his paintings are intriguing, which is due to the indifference and fullness of the heart, the tireless pursuit and exploration of life, and the refinement and mellowness of the pen and ink.
