The 2022 Japan World Double Go World Cup is hosted by the Japan Double Go Association, the World Double Go Association, and the Executive Committee of the 2022 Japan World Double Go World Cup. A total of 16 pairs of top professional masters, popular newcomers and legendary elders from China, Japan, South Korea and Chinese Taipei participated in the competition. The competition adopts Japanese rules, and the black sticker is 6 1/2 mesh. The time is 40 minutes per side, and the second is read once every 30 seconds. Through online matches (substitute combinations for remote play), players use the actual chessboard for remote play.

The competition is divided into 3 sub-events:
