In the past "Trial Eighth Edition of the New Coronavirus Diagnosis and Treatment Plan", it was stipulated that "suspected and confirmed cases should be isolated and treated in designated hospitals with effective isolation conditions and protective conditions".
After comparison, we can find that the "mild illness and no hospitalization" in the new guidelines is a very big improvement, and it can also be said to be the most dramatic change.
What are mild COVID-19 patients?
Mild patients refer to patients with mild clinical symptoms and no imaging manifestations of pneumonia.
Although mild patients do not need to be hospitalized and can be isolated centrally, the guidelines also point out that "mild cases are subject to centralized isolation management, and relevant centralized isolation places cannot isolate people entering the country, close contacts and other groups at the same time."
During the isolation management period, symptomatic treatment and disease monitoring should be done, and if the condition is aggravated, it should be transferred to the designated hospital for treatment", which means that they are all isolated, but they should still be treated differently and strictly managed in accordance with the prevention and control of the epidemic.
In addition, in terms of "lifting isolation management and post-discharge precautions", in the new plan, the previous "continue to isolate management and health monitoring for 14 days after discharge" is changed to "7 days of home health monitoring after lifting isolation management or discharging from hospital", which is also a very significant change, which greatly shortens the isolation time.
