After losing to Memphis (the Grizzlies), the Knicks came to barclays center to play against the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets beat the 76ers and Hornets, and the mighty Irving scored 50 points but couldn't play due to vaccine restrictions.
In the first few minutes of the game, the Nets clearly dominated, with Brown, Durant and Dragic performing well. It wasn't until seeing 11-0 on the scoreboard that the Knicks' reaction came. A "Durant" release didn't break the Knicks, who scored 16 points in the first quarter and managed to keep the Nets ahead of the scoreboard (35-30).
At the start of the second quarter, the score changed without Durant on the floor. The final section was heart-pounding and put everyone in a state of tension. Evan Fournier and RJ Barrett's personal flashes gave the Knicks a 101-103 lead with three minutes left in the game. In response to this reaction, the MVP of this game, Kevin Durant, decided to break the deadlock. A mistake by Fournier and Nash's excellent management determined the game (110-107). Durant broke the nets' record for the highest score against the New York Knicks with 53 points.
