On March 14, news came from the Chinese Football Association that the Football Association has officially issued a notice to clubs at all levels in the Chinese Super League, China League A and China Second Division on matters related to the transfer of players in the 2022 season, which is commonly known as the "transfer method". It shows that the transfer window of domestic football in the new season will open from March 15 to April 15. Unlike last season's transfer method, there is no restriction on the number of new domestic players that can be transferred to each club in the Chinese Super League throughout the season. The Chinese Super League foreign aid, U23 players and policies have not changed from last year, and naturalized players are transferred and registered according to the status of domestic players.
As of the evening of March 14, the schedule, format and competition plan of the new domestic three-tier professional league have not been officially confirmed. However, the Preparatory Group of the Chinese Football Association and the China Football Federation still make every effort to promote the preparation of leagues at all levels, and implement specific work in accordance with the preliminary schedule of the Chinese Super League from April 23 to November 13.
In view of the tight time, the competition department of the Chinese Football Association, after communicating with the preparatory group of the Chinese Football Federation and other relevant parties, finally finalized the specific arrangements for the transfer of clubs in the Chinese Super League, China A and China Second Division in the 2022 season. The first transfer window of the 2022 season in domestic football is confirmed to open from March 15 to April 15. The setting of this window period is more consistent with the initial schedule of the league. The second player transfer window for the new Chinese Super League is expected to open from August 1 to 31. The two "window opening times" of the Chinese League One are the same as those of the Chinese Super League; the first player transfer window of the New Season Of the Chinese Second League is opened from March 29 to April 29, and the second "window opening" time is the same as that of the Chinese Super League and the Chinese League One.
Compared with the transfer method for players of the 2021 third-tier professional league announced on January 6 last year, the biggest change in the new season is that the number of Chinese Super League clubs in the two transfer windows has changed from "no more than 8 new players can be transferred to domestic countries" to no restrictions.
In fact, last season's "no more than 8 people" compared with the previous season's "no more than 5 people" has been improved, the Chinese Football Association completely broke the Chinese Super League clubs to introduce domestic players quota restrictions, in fact, combined with the current epidemic situation, the Chinese Super League clubs encountered practical difficulties in the operation process and provided preferential policies for reinforcement. Its original intention is to further enliven the domestic professional football transfer market and create employment opportunities for more local players. Last season, out of similar considerations, the Chinese Football Association first comprehensively broke the quota limit of the introduction of ordinary local players by the Chinese First Division and the Chinese Second Division, and achieved relatively good results.
Chinese Super League foreign aid "civilianization"
In terms of foreign aid policy, the established rules will be followed, that is to say, the new season of the Chinese Super League will continue to adopt the "7654" foreign aid policy, that is, each club can register up to 7 foreign aides in a single season (two transfer window periods), and register up to 6 foreign aides at the same time, up to 5 foreign aides in a single game, and up to 4 foreign aides in a single game. Although the AFC has recently officially announced that the number of foreign aides from the participating clubs in the AFC Champions League will be increased to 6 in the future, the Chinese Super League does not currently have the conditions to "closely follow the AFC policy". Judging from the fact that Yatai withdrew from the competition and several other teams have a high probability of arranging young players or substitute players to participate, several representative teams of the Chinese Super League have chosen "strategic abandonment" for the AFC Champions League this season, so adjusting the foreign aid policy has no practical significance for the new season of the Chinese Super League.
The U23 player policy of the Chinese Super League in the new season also remains unchanged. In other words, the number of U23 local players registered in the new season of chinese Super League clubs will remain unlimited, but each team will still ensure at least one U23 local player on the field in each game (except in the case where the relevant U23 player is ordered to play with a red card).
It is worth noting that naturalized players in the new season will be transferred and registered according to the status of domestic players. This is a difference from the "Notice on the Adjustment of the Professional League Policy for the 2020 Season" published on December 31, 2019.

According to the previous rules, "naturalized players with Chinese ancestry will be regarded as ordinary local players, and their registration and transfer are based on the relevant rules of ordinary local players; if naturalized players do not have Chinese ancestry, then only if one of the relevant conditions is met, it is possible to register and register for the new season as a domestic player, and each Chinese Super League club can only register a maximum of 1 non-Chinese naturalized player according to the domestic player standard." There are 2 conditions that need to be met for this type of player. One is to have been naturalized for 5 years; the other is to have the official qualification for the national team. ”
The registration and transfer rules for naturalized players introduced in the new season do not introduce rules for Chinese-origin naturalized players and non-Chinese-born naturalized players. From the actual situation, affected by various practical factors, it is impossible for domestic clubs at all levels to introduce non-Chinese naturalized (naturalized) players in the new season.
