Recently, according to foreign media Theverge, Musk's girlfriend Grames announced in an interview with Vanity Fair that she and Musk have given birth to a second child through surrogacy. This time, it was a daughter, born last December, named Exa Dark Sider l Musk, whom they called Y.
"Exa" is short for the computer term exaFLOPS (the ability to perform 1 trillion floating-point operations per second). "Dark" stands for the unknown, sider means Sidereal for "star," and Grimes believes the word represents the real time of the universe, not time on Earth.
This is Musk's 7th child and first daughter. Musk and Grimes' first child was born in May 2020 as a son named X A-Xii Musk, or X for short. Grimes said the second child underwent surrogacy due to severe discomfort and complications she developed while she was pregnant.
Musk has said he is in a "semi-detached" state with Grimes and has recently been with Australian actress Natasha Bassett.
Grimes also explained her current relationship with Musk, saying, "I might call him my boyfriend, but our relationship is very volatile," she said, "We live in different houses." We are best friends.
