The book's nine lectures are divided into six special topics: the first topic is "Beauty in Magical Ancient Greece", which tells the origin of ancient Greek beauty and the ideas of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle on beauty. The second topic, "Two Clues to Beauty", shifted from the West to China, combing through two threads of Chinese beauty, namely the Confucian beauty of order and the liberal beauty of Taoism. The third topic is "Wei Jin Wind Bone", with three entry points, the beauty of Wei Jin Wind Bone is exhausted. The fourth topic shifts from the East to the West, deeply analyzing "what is beauty", that is, the essence of beauty. The fifth topic clarifies the essence and realization path of aesthetic education. The sixth topic discusses "Where is the beauty of China" through the comparison of Chinese and Western beauty, and ends neatly.
Nine lectures travel through time and space, connecting East and West, integrating ancient and modern, and showing the changes in Chinese and Western beauty over the past 3,000 years in the collision between ancient souls and modern ideological trends, and the beauty of tradition and modernity.
About the Author
Zhou Wei: Zi Qingyi, graduated from the Department of Philosophy of Wuhan University. He is currently the president of the People's Fine Arts Publishing House, a professor at Nanjing Academy of Arts, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, and Jilin Academy of Arts, and the chief editor of fine arts, a full-time ordinary high school textbook reviewed by the Ministry of Education. His major works include "36 Questions of Beauty", "The Future Picture of Media", "Ten Questions on Current Chinese Art", "Media Frontier Report" and so on.
