On January 8, 2021, Japan's Suntory announced the launch of two new whiskies in Japan: Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021 and Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2021.
Yamazaki Limited Edition 2021 is 12 years old, and it is worth mentioning that the liquor is matured in new Mizunara oak barrels with an alcohol content of 43% vol. The label uses Echizen washi paper, the texture of the wooden box imitates the texture of water lintel oak, and the pattern of the Yamazaki Distillation Institute is engraved using the style of printmaking. According to Suntory, the new water lintel oak barrels give it a soft and sweet aroma that harmoniously combines with a clear fruity flavor to give it a rounded and thick texture.
Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2021 is a vintage-neutral blended whisky. Based on the original sake, which is mainly composed of "Ring", this style is mixed with the original whiskey that has been aged in Sakura Wood, which is also the first time that the "Ring" series has used Sakura Barrel whisky as a blend of original sake. It is said to show a gorgeous aroma reminiscent of the blossoms of the cherry tree, with a soft, harmonious flavor and a long and fresh aftertaste. On the packaging, the label is printed with a dark pattern suitable for the cherry blossom bloom scene of the celebration occasion, while the use of "bright red" as a contrast color highlights the gorgeousness and uniqueness of the original cherry blossom barrel on the top.
