Founded in 1779, Bowmore Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and is currently part of the Beam Suntory Group. Pomo is home to one of Scotland's oldest wine cellars, No.1 Vaults. According to legend, The Bomo No. 1 Cellar is the same age as the Bomo Distillery and was also built in 1779, with a history of more than 240 years.
On March 9, 2022, Pommo announced the launch of a new whisky, Bowmore 1965 Precious Metals (BPM). Based on Pomo's 2018 Bowmore 1965 single-barrel whisky, it was distilled in 1965 and matured into an Oloroso sherry barrel, bottled in 2018, aged 52 years, with an alcohol content of 42% ABV and a capacity of 700ml (750ml for the US version), with a total of 232 bottles, each with a unique code.
Pomo picked four bottles of The Bowmore 1965 and tailored a brand new wine box for them, which was eventually revived under the name BPM. Handcrafted by John Galvin Design (JGD), a world-renowned and renowned luxury design and production studio, each box is accompanied by a layer of brass from The Pomo Distillery's retired Spirit Safe, which dates back to 1924.
BPM's wine box and the previous Poppy Cabinet (AC) showcase launched by Pomo use the same design idea and process, and AC is also created by JGD (see "Asian Collectors Shoot!"). All four bottles of BPM are limited to tourism retail channels, with an official suggested retail price of $50,000, and each bottle comes with a certificate that explains the story behind BPM and proves its rarity. On March 11, 2022, one of the bottles of BPM will be on sale at the Taipei Neihu flagship store in Ascend Chang, Taiwan. Three more bottles will be available on shelves at duty-free shops at Dubai, Hong Kong and Amsterdam Airports. In addition, it is worth noting that BPM's official announcement copy said that only four bottles of BPM were sold, but it can be seen from the BPM official announcement pictures that the BPM wine box has the word "1 of 6" on the bottom of the front, which indicates that BPM may have created 6 bottles.
