Although the number of domestic animations is growing rapidly, it is not difficult to find out on a closer look that most of them are adapted from online texts or comics, and there are few original works.
As a result, many anime fans hope that a few original animations can be produced in China, rather than all of them being adapted.

01. Risk of originality
As mentioned earlier, original animation is very risky compared to adapting animation.
The adaptation of the animation has the original as the basis, especially in the case that the original work has been fired, and it is highly likely that the animation will tell the same story again. And even if it can't be a big fire, there are original fans, not too bad data.
But the original animation is different, the original script, the new characters, whether the audience can accept it, whether the anime fans can understand whether the animation is suitable for themselves, are full of uncertainty.
And compared to the adaptation of the animation, the production cycle of the original animation will be longer, which means greater financial pressure.
In contrast, for an animation company that wants to make a profit, doing animation adaptation is the best choice.
02. Fans' hobbies
Many anime fans want to see the original animation, not that the adaptation animation is not well produced, but in the process of watching, even if you have not seen the original work, you will be spoiled by the bullet screen and the comment area, which is less fun.
Secondly, now the homogenization of the theme of domestic animation is becoming more and more serious, after a theme is on fire, a large number of works with the same theme began to be produced and broadcast, watching one or two can be, watching more, less fresh, do not want to continue to watch.
And the original animation can give the audience a fresh feeling, even if someone wants spoilers, it can only be speculated based on the existing plot, and it may not be able to accurately say the follow-up plot development, and it can also find fun when discussing the plot with everyone.
Therefore, after watching more anime adapted from familiar online texts and manga, many anime fans prefer to see some original animation.
03. Do you want to be original?
Some anime fans want animation companies to do original animation, so do animation companies have to take huge risks to do original animation?
not necessarily.
Except for some small studios, everyone wants to make a favorite animation for the sake of feelings. Most animation companies still have to be profit-oriented.
If you lose money, the company can't sustain itself, employees face the risk of unemployment, not to mention the original, the adaptation is probably not going to have to watch, it is certainly not the situation that anime fans are willing to see.
Not only domestic, but also familiar Japanese animation and American animation, most of them are adapted from manga or novels, but most domestic audiences have not seen the original book.
Moreover, the animation introduced in China is a fine product that has been screened once, so it will make the domestic audience have the illusion that "foreign animation is good animation".
If you pay attention to the situation of domestic original animation, it is not difficult to find that "Spirit Cage", "Assassin Wu Liuqi", and "Bad People Who Draw Rivers and Lakes" now have corresponding comics.
That is to say, some works are from anime to manga, and some works are from manga to anime, but they are just changing the order, and they are all original.
04. What fans really want
Is what anime fans really want is an original anime that is not adapted from an online text or manga?
No, they just want to see something new that they haven't seen before.
Some original animations, they are fresh one or two episodes, may find a reason not to continue to chase.
For example, when I mentioned original animations such as "The Strange Adventure of the Xuan Yue of the Fighting Soul Guard", "Chronicles of All Nations", "Love Before the Western Yuan", "Yan Wang", "King of the Tomb King", "Pillow Knife Song" and other original animations, many fans said that they did not finish watching it, either "the painting style was discouraged", or the "pace was too slow", and there were always several reasons not to continue to chase. But the same thing happens when it comes to anime adaptations, and new reasons can always be given to chase it down.
And some adaptations of the anime, as long as they are slightly different from the original, they can feel fresh.
"Breaking the Sky" has made some changes to the plot of Yun Yun and Xiao Yan, and in the eyes of fans, it is fresh and will want to chase it down.
Anime adaptations like "Ancient Immortal Dome" and "Yuan Long" that have long been unable to guess how the plot will develop make fans feel even more novel.
At the end of the day, anime fans don't really want to see original animation, they just don't want to see a cookie-cutter adaptation of the plot.
So many novels and comics with different themes can be selected, but many animation companies are more willing to choose those homogeneous works, and they really don't like it.
