Shen Lin said that in the past, chemotherapy and targeted drug treatment were aimed at tumors, and once drug resistance appeared, tumors would progress. Immunotherapy is a fertile ground for tumor growth, and once it is effective, it is likely to be effective for a long time. However, clinical research of new drugs brings opportunities and risks to patients, and doctors have a lot of responsibility, and patient safety is a top priority.
In promoting the advancement of medicine, in addition to clinicians and drug research and development personnel, the biggest contributors are patients participating in clinical trials. "In the past few years, only about one or two out of 10 people were willing to participate in clinical trials, and now many patients have taken the initiative to come to them or call to inquire whether there is a suitable clinical study to participate in." Shen Lin said.
Patients who received treatment said that the reason why they could get standardized treatment came from the standard experience established by others who had participated in clinical research, so they were willing to participate in clinical research to pass on this hope. "I believe that in the next three or five years, the treatment of stomach cancer will progress faster than ever before." Shen Lin said that like the road traveled by lung cancer, the cure for stomach cancer is also to be completed into zero precision treatment and overcome one by one.
"The battle with tumors is like 'Fools moving mountains', digging basket by basket, and a big mountain has slowly been dug out of a corner." Shen Lin said that there are a series of clinical studies for different types of stomach cancer, which have gained breakthrough prospects.
The "Healthy China 2030" Planning Outline proposes that by 2030, the health management of chronic diseases in the whole population and the whole life cycle will be realized, and the overall five-year survival rate of cancer will be increased by 15%. For this goal, Shen Lin is full of confidence: "In the digestive system tumors, in addition to not having confidence in pancreatic cancer, others including esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, bowel cancer, biliary tract, and even liver cancer, are likely to achieve this goal." ”
She pointed out that in the future, by improving the early diagnosis rate and comprehensive treatment two-wheel drive, by 2030, the 5-year survival rate of the total population of gastric cancer is expected to increase from about 35% to about 45%.
