After the end of the Dark Race War, a brutal warlord appeared in the northern wilderness, Saan Uzur. He believed that as long as a great empire was forged with blood and death, it could become a god after death and be immortal. So he rolled down many tribes and settlements, and built his empire in the north by killing.

Just as Saen Uzul's life came to an end, he waited contentedly for the gods to greet him. But what awaited him was not God and eternal life, but a barren land where there was almost nothing but the existence of other lost souls, whispers of unclear meaning everywhere, and other souls gradually disappeared under the passage of time. The seemingly shattered Sane Uzur's immediate feelings were not despair, but anger and anguish, and he did not believe that he, like other lowly souls, refused to disappear with other souls.
Anger and pain prevented him from collapsing like the other souls, and as the days passed, Sahn Uzur slowly understood the meaning of the whisper and mastered the language of the whisper, "Euchen". Sahn Uzur uses the Ouchin language to convey a message to the afterlife, tempting people from the outside world to resurrect him and gain his infinite power. Finally, one day, in order to resist the enemy, a wizard forged dark metal armor similar to Saen Uzul's previous armor, connected his soul to it, and summoned the metal undead to the world, and Sahn Uzur killed them as a gift of gratitude. Although the wizard kept calling the name "Sahn Uzur" in an attempt to control him, to no avail, the resurrected Sahn Uzur was no longer the original mortal Saen Uzur, it already had a new name.
And this new name is Maud Caesar.
The mighty Maud Caesar uses terror to lead the wizarding army, using the wizard's fearful soul to forge the nail hammer "Nightfall". He continued to fight and kill, and in his raging areas, almost the entire era was wiped out. But his ambitions did not stop at the dynasty of the moment, he built a castle "immortal fortress" in the center of the former empire, hiding his soul's connection to reality and a bunch of knowledge about death and soul. His purpose was not only to conquer the realms of life, but also the realms of death, as the name "Immortal Fortress" was, and he wanted to build an immortal empire.
But his ambitions seem to have ended with the betrayal of his warlock confidants. Maud Caesar's warlock confidant Lefran came from an unknown source, and no one knew what her purpose was or where her power came from. I only know that she is good at imitating and deceiving, and she also plots in secret. This time the plot hits Maud Caesar, who first finds the blood mage "Vladimir", who lives in a coastal tribe and seeks a young life and worship, and invites him to join the organization founded by Loveland, the Black Rose.
Vladimir accepts her agreement and becomes one of the leaders of the Black Rose, and Loveland comes to the barbarians who have been oppressed by Maude Caesar, promising them that she will banish Maude Caesar. Of course, she needed the power of the barbarians. The combined armies of the major tribes, combined with the betrayal of the Black Rose, led to the unexpected defeat of Maude Caesar. His connection to the soul of reality was broken and he was expelled from the material realm. But behind this overly smooth plan is Maude Caesar's conspiracy. Maud Caesar returned to the realm of death, this time seeing no longer desolation, but a large group of souls that he had brutally killed.
The emotions of this group of undead are no longer hatred, anger, and fear of Maude Caesar, but eternal obedience. When they come to the realm of death, they are distorted by the influence of dark sorcery, and their souls not only do not disappear, but also assimilate and coexist with the will of Maude Caesar.
Maude Caesar was deliberately banished to the realm of death, and what he received was an army of the undead loyal to him. He used the souls of his soldiers to build a whole new empire in the realm, and now he is the emperor of the afterlife, and he will one day return to the world of the living to start his final dynasty.
Postscript/Supplement
The first supplement is the migration of the Wasayans, and as the magic of the rune earth became more and more balanced, the magic of Ionia was not enough to provide so many Wasayans to use, and the magic in other places made it a habitable place for the Wasayans. So some tribes chose to leave Ionia and go elsewhere to take root.
Even though these tribes were far from home, they proudly named themselves after the heroes of the Titan Wars, such as the noble Tooth, the loyal Ear, the wise Lot, and so on. One of the known tribes is the Carnithorn, who inhabit the eastern part of Shurima and revere the glory and honor that hunting brings.
Another tribe is the "Mackerel", which inhabit the sea west of Megalithic Peak, a group of mermaidoids who coexist in the abyss with the void deep under the sea. In order not to be swallowed up by the Void, they made an agreement with the Moonlight Hermit of the Kyaukyue Sect, who gave them a "Moonstone" containing the magic of the Moon to protect the Fish Clan from the Void. However, the "Moonstone" has to be replaced every hundred years, so the Fish Tribe must send the most powerful warrior "Tide Summoner" every hundred years to dive into the abyss and take out the Pearl of the Abyss in exchange for the Moonstone.
The last additional information is the Yodel Wizard Vega, when the Dark Race War ended, humanity resumed the study of ancient celestial magic, and this move aroused the interest of the Yodel Wizard Vega, which led him to the material realm and join the Mage Assembly in the North, hoping to teach these like-minded people and dream of becoming a mysterious master in the eyes of others. These mages did not exclude Vega, nor did they question his ardence and ability, they learned from Vega how to draw dreams and strength from the orbit of the stars in an effort to rebuild the world.
But as they try to chase their dreams, they encounter the aggression of Maude Caesar. In Maud Caesar's eyes, this group of wizards who only theorize but have no power is worthless, but he thinks Vega is different. So he killed the other mages, captured Vega, imprisoned him in an immortal fortress, and forced him to transform his magic into a darker existence. Isolation is the most brutal torture for a Yodel, and what Maude Caesar did, which brought Vega into contact with fear for a long time, caused his magic and appearance to begin to distort, unexpectedly giving him near-immortal powers. As time passed, his memories faded, making him no longer remember the good old days.
When Maud Caesar was expelled from the material realm, Vega finally regained the freedom he had forgotten. Perhaps determined not to be ruled by others again, he decided to become one of the most evil mages, to rule others with fear, and to gain the respect of all. However, he does not know what is called "evil", and he occasionally does some "bad things" that level the local baron's mansion and burn other people's pastures, but at the same time he will hit other recognized evil beings, such as driving out the local brutal warlords, or expelling the local bandits, proving himself to be the ultimate evil.
Of course, he thought he was evil, but in the eyes of others, he was a very righteous being.
