In keeping with the tradition of all studios and studios, Apple has now released a "For Your Consideration" website that includes trailers, screens, and a Q&A session with the stars of On the Rocks.

It's the first time Apple has created such a site that includes promotional materials for nearly every movie and TV show released by Apple TV+ last year. To support the film, Apple also produced a 20-minute "On the Rocks" virtual event to showcase the film's all-star cast and writers/directors.

Writer and director Sophia Coppola and actors Rushda Jones and Marlon Waynes were interviewed by Clayton Davis, Variety Film Awards editor, via video conference. The trio told their stories on set, many of which involved their absentee co-actor Bill Murray.

For example, Coppola talked about how the film was shot in New York City in 28 days, months before the pandemic began. In addition, she also shared some ideas about the origin of the film.

"After having kids, I've been thinking about this story, working hard, being creative and starting a family," she says, "and I feel like when you become a parent, you have to look at where you come from." ”

Coppola continues: "So I was thinking about the theme of the film, I wanted a father-daughter good friend story with a jumping feel, and it had to have a weird comedic feel. All of this will be presented in a fun, relaxed way, but at the same time connected to my more important themes. ”

After Davis asked about Bill Murray on set, the actors shared some stories about him.

Rushda Jones said: "If I could think more about working with legends like Bill, I think I would have a hard time staying at this point. He's so good at performing there that he doesn't always bring the signature vibrancy, he brings the vibrancy of gentleness, generosity, live partnering. ”

"In embodying the character," she continued, "he had a distant elegance, and [and] I hadn't seen that version of himself on a regular basis." ”

"For me," co-star Marlon Waynes said, "I see Bill as a blueprint for what I want to move forward." ”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this Oscars is much later than usual, which means that the awards season is just beginning now. The nominees will be announced on March 15, while the Oscars are scheduled for April 25.

The industry generally believes that Apple is expected to receive an Oscar nomination. Its "Wolfwalkers" will qualify for Best Animated Feature, while Boys State and Fireball will likely be nominated for Best Documentary.

Currently, Gold Derby, a website that tracks oscar odds predictions, believes that "On the Rocks" has a 100-to-1 chance of winning Best Picture. Similarly, Coppola won 100-1 at best director and Jones 100-1 at best actress.

However, the site gave Coppola a much higher chance of winning the Best Original Screenplay award, at 25 to 1. Bill Murray has a 14-to-1 chance of winning best actor.
