Hassan enforces the Battle of The Sands
The Chinese team's "home" match against Saudi Arabia on March 24, for various reasons, once again chose to play in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. As in the previous Chinese team's "home" against Vietnam in Sharjah, FIFA and the AFC chose the UAE referee Mohammed Abdullah Hassan as the referee of this match based on the principle of "proximity".

It is reported that the other referees who served in this match are the same as the members of the referee group that enforced the Chinese team's match with Vietnam last year, the two assistant referees are Mohammad Ahmed Youssef Hammadi and Hassan Mohammed Mahri, the fourth official is Adel Hamis Nakbi, the video assistant referee is Amar Ali Juma Gianabi, and the assistant video assistant referee (AVAR) is Omar Mohammed Hassan Ali. Referee supervision is from Qatar, while match supervision is from Syria.
