He Aiping and her husband He Qigen are both industrious and simple farmers who make a living from farming. Although they were not wealthy, they saved money and worked hard to provide for their two sons to go to school. However, in 1997, He Qigen's sudden death due to myocardial infarction was tantamount to a thunderbolt on a sunny day, which put the already poor family into a greater predicament. At that time, He Jingjing was in the third year of high school, the results were among the best, in order not to add a burden to the family, under the advice of the class teacher, he decided to apply for the military school. In 1998, He Jingjing was admitted to xi'an Air Force Engineering College with high scores.

Before entering the school, He Aiping said to He Jingjing in a serious tone that the living conditions at home were not good, and the party and the government had given great help to the family, and that in the future in the army, we must study hard, train hard, and serve the motherland after completing our studies. He Jingjing remembered her mother's earnest teachings, performed well after arriving in the army, was good at studying, willing to endure hardships, not only strived for excellence in business, but also strictly demanded herself everywhere, and won many commendations from the army.

In order to support He Jingjing in the military camp, He Aiping never made demands on her son and the army no matter what difficulties she encountered at home. She raised silkworms, picked tea, did various agricultural work, and made a living, but due to long-term high-intensity labor, her lumbar disc herniation was so severe that she could not continue to engage in heavy physical labor. He Jingjing's younger brother He Liangliang, in order to allow his brother to continue to complete his studies, went out to work after graduating from junior high school with excellent grades to subsidize the family. After He Jingjing graduated from the military academy, He Aiping encouraged him to take up posts in grass-roots units and work in the places where the motherland needed them most.

In 2011, He Jingjing and her lover Qian Fengya married a family, and his wife followed the army and took care of her daughter at home. Every summer vacation, Qian Fengya would take her children back to her hometown to visit He Aiping. The family is harmonious and beautiful, and they are happy and harmonious. He Aiping often told his daughter-in-law that as a military subordinate, he must understand the mission and responsibility of the sacred profession of the military and bear more family responsibilities, which is the greatest support and help for him.
