In an interview after the race, Kipchoge said that he was very happy at the East Malaysia race, thanking tokyo for today's weather, the first time to win the championship is a very good experience.
Before the game, Kipchoge said that if the half-time is around 61 points, then he may hit a new world record. In the actual race, Kipchoge ran through the half in 1:01:05, preparing for the second half of the sprint.

At 34 km, Kipchoge sped up slightly, trying to distance himself some distance from KIPRUTO, but KIPRUTO kept up. At 36 km and 37 km, Kipchoge accelerated twice, but never completely distanced itself from KIPRUTO.
By 39 km, Kipchoge had gradually distanced himself from KUIPRUTO, and then completely left KIPRUTO behind. Kipchoge also gradually had a smile on his face.
At 2:02:40, Kipchoge won his East Malaysia debut with a record-breaking record. KIPRUTO followed in second place with a time of 2:03:12, also breaking the original record, with TOLA finishing third in 2:04:14 and Kengo Suzuki of Japan finishing fourth.

In the women's group, world record holder KOSGEI had already left the other runners behind at 36 km, and the next 6 km was almost her own track, and she finally won the women's championship in 2:16:02.
