Many people may be full of doubts in their hearts now, the current Ukraine is a lost city, a large number of living forces have been annihilated, even the capital Kiev has been caught in the heavy siege of Russia, where did Zelensky and others have the courage to say that they want to carry out a comprehensive counteroffensive?
Recently, the Bottom Card of the Ukrainian side was finally exposed, and it was publicly claimed that there were already 16,000 "Foreign Corps" personnel, in fact, mercenaries, who had arrived in Ukraine one after another to prepare for war.
It is reported that most of these mercenaries come from European and American countries, many of them are retired soldiers, have extremely rich combat experience, and many of the weapons in their hands are more advanced than the Ukrainian army and have strong combat effectiveness.
With the help of these 16,000 mercenaries, it is no wonder that Zelensky was so confident this time that he even dreamed of counterattacking the Russian army.
The Russian side was also very annoyed with these mercenaries who came to "arch the fire", and even publicly warned them, declaring that they would not even have the opportunity to be prisoners of war after the start of the war, and they would not be able to enjoy the treatment of prisoners of war.
What does this sentence mean?
The Russian side is obviously sternly warning these mercenaries that according to the relevant international regulations, mercenaries who are captured will not enjoy the treatment of prisoners of war, and if they are lucky, they may also be sent to Russia for formal litigation, and then go to "dig potatoes" or sit on the bottom of the prison, and those who are unlucky may be directly shot, and no one can blame Russia for anything.
So, from the perspective of military strength, can these more than 10,000 mercenaries pose a threat to the Russian army and even help Zelenskiy "turn over"?
The answer is clearly no.
Although the combat effectiveness and will to fight of these mercenaries are generally stronger than those of ordinary Ukrainian soldiers, the weapons they are equipped with are generally light weapons, and in the current Ukrainian battlefield, the most capable of influencing the battlefield situation is tanks, artillery, fighters and other heavy equipment.
In addition, these mercenaries from countless countries in the north and south of the world, to put it bluntly, are a group of "rabble-rousers", it is difficult to fight in a systematic way, it is good to fight a tailwind battle, once they encounter danger, they may scatter at any time, and the soles of their feet are greased, from this point of view, their combat effectiveness is not much stronger than those of the Ukrainian nationalist forces.
Finally, and crucially, the attitude of the Western countries that had been secretly supporting these mercenaries behind their backs has changed dramatically.
In recent times, we have often seen that countries such as France, South Korea, and other countries have stopped and punished soldiers who have gone abroad without authorization to participate in the war in Ukraine, and it is obvious that many Western countries have understood that if they are involved in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict again, they will also suffer heavy losses. Without the strong support of these countries behind them, these mercenaries who fight for "money" are bound to suffer a serious setback.
All in all, Zelenskiy wanted to rely on more than ten thousand mercenaries to counterattack the Russian army, and the idea was very good, but there was no doubt that reality would soon give him a fierce "slap".
Nowadays, the situation between Russia and Ukraine has reached a crucial inflection point, in order to solve the Ukrainian problem as peacefully as possible, the Russian side has made concessions to the Ukrainian side again and again, as long as Ukraine can be completely de-militarized, de-Nazimized, and truly become a permanent neutral country, the Russian side can agree to other conditions of the Ukrainian side.
But now Zelenskiy sees only mercenaries constantly coming from the West, a large number of weapons and equipment supported by the European Union, and the sanctions imposed by many Western countries on Russia, and he naively thinks that as long as he can continue to give Russia the hope of negotiating a solution and constantly delay time, he will be able to exert more pressure on the Russian side, and his own strength will be stronger, and he will eventually defeat Russia under the condition of self-defeat.
But Zelenskiy did not see that as he "teased" Russia again and again, the chances of resolving his own crisis were becoming smaller and smaller, and when Russia completely lost patience, all his statements would completely lose trust, and he and ukraine as a whole might completely fall into the abyss by then.
