Q: Your works are not like traditional Chinese paintings, what is the biggest feature of your works compared to the latter?

A: I started painting this way in graduate school, and I'm still trying to improve. My works, pen and ink things are much less, the traditional Chinese technical forms are much less, I pay more attention to the feeling, in my opinion is to use pen and ink paper to paint some things that have nothing to do with Chinese painting, but the tradition is to be well grasped, and can not be taken lightly.

Q: In terms of style, your works are somewhat similar to Liu Qinghe's, what is the biggest influence of Mr. Liu on you?

A: The biggest impact is that he never talks to us about teaching on the painting itself, but jumps in thinking, all fields will be involved, and it is often at this time that we will reflect more. In fact, this is also the most difficult place to learn from Teacher Liu, he does not restrict you, some are too liberal, the process seems to be very easy, but you need to consciously have an epiphany and position yourself.

In terms of style, of course, it will also be influenced by the mentor, but I always hope to have some qualitative breakthroughs. People are a complex, absorbing things are also strange and extensive, and if you want to innovate, you will inevitably draw all kinds of fresh blood.

Q: At the moment, which one do you think is your best work?

A: At present, there is no most satisfactory work, only relative satisfaction, because I believe that I will improve in the future. However, there is a special work" "Meditation", which allows me to have a long-term exploration of painting, and later I will also incorporate murals into paintings.

Meditation

A: Learning from the ancients may never be surpassed, I just want to study traditional Chinese painting more, and the biggest problem should be to create newer works that do not lose tradition.

Q: You once said that "people are more interesting than things", is this why you like to draw children?

A: What was the state of mind at that time, I have forgotten, maybe I want to say that to a certain extent, people are a little richer. I think the fun is very simple and direct, first of all need to infect me, whether it is from which inch of skin on the face, or which movement of the limb, I want to start from the reality, the things described are real and not illusory.

I paint portraits of children, because I want to show the simplest and most direct thing in the world, now a child, and then something that may touch me.

Q: You say that you are a "cat slave" and have painted a lot of cat works, do you think there is anything unique about your cats?

A: In fact, I don't think there is anything special about the cat I painted, I am always moved by the moment of the small animal, that moment may be an expression, an action, can make myself happy and melt. I just want to freeze this little feeling in the painting, of course, it is best to move others.

After painting so many cats, many people have asked me if I have a cat, in fact, I do not have a cat, now cats, dogs and dogs can be seen every day, and there are many friends around me who are raising cats.
