This year's Cannes Film Festival will be remembered, in addition to being held in the shadow of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, there must be the oolong of Spike Lee, the chairman of the main competition section jury at the award ceremony. Not long after the ceremony began, the host asked Spike Lee, "Can you tell us the results of tonight's first award?" Spark Lee took out a note and slowly read out the most important (first) award of the night, the Palme d'Or, which belonged to Titanium, which should have been revealed at the end of the night. The members of the jury next to them saw that the situation was not right, and it was too late to stop it, and then they could only laugh. Spike Lee didn't know what was going on after a while, and said with resentment: "Oh, English!" ”

The first award that should really be announced that night was actually the short film Palme d'Or, which won the award for "The Crow under the Sky" produced in Hong Kong, China. The film stood out through the short filming support project "Fresh Wave" sponsored by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, and director Tang Yi graduated from the University of Chinese in Hong Kong with a degree in accounting and later studied at the New York University School of Film. The story of "The Crows of the World" takes place in Chinese mainland, presenting the appearance of a middle-aged man through the perspective of a female high school student. In addition to "The Crow of the World", the Chinese short film "Dolly" directed by Zou Jing has previously won the Film Critics Week Short Film Award. Both award-winning directors are women.

The unexpected unveiling of the Palme d'Or also made director Giulia Di Kuno feel the joy of winning the award in advance. The 37-year-old previously directed the only feature film she had previously directed, the 2016 horror film Raw Eat. "Titanium" co-stars Garance Mariglier, a young actress who stood out in "Raw Eating", and Vincent Linton, an old actor in the French film industry. It is worth mentioning that Giulia di Cuno is the second female director in cannes history to win the Palme d'Or, the last time dating back to 1993 when New Zealand director Jane Campion won the award for Piano Lessons (alongside Kaige Chen's Farewell to the King).

In addition to Giulia di Kuno and Tang Yi, the female directors on the main competition category winners include Antoneta Kusijanović, who was born in Croatia. Her Moray Eel won the Golden Camera Award, which recognizes her feature film debut.

Perhaps because this year's Cannes Film Festival actually brought together two years of selection works, there are many "double yolk eggs" in the award results. Iranian director Asha Farhati's "A Hero" shared the Jury Prize with Polish director Yuho Kuosmann's "Carriage Six." Thai director Apichatpong Welashagu's "Memory" and Israeli director Nadhav Rapid's "Ahed's Knee" shared a jury award similar to "third place".

Other awards include Best Director by French director Leo Carax for Annette and Best Screenplay for Japanese director Ryusuke Hamaguchi for "Driving My Car."

This year's Festival de Cannes requires attendees to provide a negative nucleic acid test certificate within 48 hours before they can enter the auditorium and venue. As a result, a total of 70 positive cases were found in the 11-day (last day of the film festival was not counted).
