Born in 1985, Qiu Yike entered the national second team at the age of 17 and the national first team a year later. Qiu Yike plays fiercely, his pace is flexible, the running range in the game is relatively large, and the attack in the stage is his main technical specialty.
In 2003, at the age of 18, Qiu Yike faced the world number one German Pol in the second round of the men's singles at the Paris World Table Tennis Championships, and as a result, Qiu Yike stubbornly won four consecutive sets in the face of losing two sets and defeated Pol 4-2. Such a feat also shocked the international table tennis world at that time.
