Huang Zhijian said: "Excellent traditional culture is the spiritual lifeblood of the Chinese nation. In today's era of high-speed information iteration and multicultural collision, how to inherit and carry forward China's excellent traditional culture is an unavoidable issue in front of us. How to tell Chinese stories well, pass on the Chinese spirit, and match contemporary aesthetic and artistic values on the basis of adhering to the ontology and cultural core of art is the common pursuit of the majority of literary and artistic creators. ”

The film has been filmed in many places, including Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, Xinchang Ancient Town and Zhouzhuang Ancient Town that embody the characteristics of Jiangnan Water Town, as well as landmarks that embody Shanghai's international metropolis - Lujiazui, The Bund, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, Duolun Road Cultural Celebrity Street, etc. The elements presented in the film are rich and layered. There are traditional Chinese instruments - pipa, dong zhen, zhen zhen, sheng, between the orchestras, chanting a thousand years of attachment; there are jiangnan bridges, sue the ancient double bridge, the release bridge, said today's Waibaidu bridge. Between the arches and caves of the corridor, it carries the wisdom and hard work of the Jiangnan people. The light and shadow present China's most unique art - calligraphy, China's oldest traditional opera - Kunqu Opera, the most magnificent series of books in ancient China - "Four Libraries of The Whole Book", all of which highlight the profound and extensive and long-standing traditional Chinese culture; as well as Jiangnan cultural symbols such as Bluestone Lane, Lotus Pond, Oil Paper Umbrella, Paper Windmill and so on.

"Jiangnan culture contains the aesthetic positioning of oriental humanities and elegance, and the best expression must be silent and silent." I hope to create for the audience the artistic conception of 'Xiao Xiao drizzle into the dusk, dreaming around the Yunshui Village in Jiangnan', a drop of rain, a carp, all show the richness and tranquility, thickness and vicissitudes of this land. "Huang Zhijian uses the technique of film narrative to tell the story, uses the expression of music television to be beautiful, and embodies the connotation of Jiangnan culture with a small view of the earth."

Actor Song Yu

The music micro-film "Memories of Jiangnan" took a year and a half from shooting to post-production, twenty-four draft changes, four post-productions, and the creator used an almost harsh artistic attitude to complete this work that lasted only five minutes. Forty years ago, the painter Chen Yifei's oil painting "Memories of Hometown" made the beauty of Jiangnan famous all over the world. Today, the Shuangqiao bridge in Zhouzhuang has become a famous tourist attraction, with a flow of people and a strong commercial atmosphere. In order to reproduce the double bridge in the painting, the main creative team arranged the scene at four o'clock in the morning, artificially created a smoky atmosphere, started the camera and waited for the best light, and finally captured the perfect picture of Xianle Fluttering, which became the finishing touch of the whole film. In order to find a house that can represent the architectural characteristics of Jiangnan and is suitable for shooting, the main creator traveled to several places, and finally found an old house in Pudong Xinchang Ancient Town - Chongxiu Hall, and the mottled marks left by the years between the white walls and gray tiles have become an indispensable memory background for this film. At the end of the film, there is a scene of a wandering son and a master talking to each other, the two use the dong gong and the pipa ensemble respectively, in order to achieve the perfect effect of the sound surface, according to the narrative plot, the music that has been recorded many times is re-equipped, and Fang Jinlong enters the studio again to record the dong zhen. The pursuit of art makes the theme of this film a perfect artistic expression.

"'Reminiscence of Jiangnan' is precisely an aesthetic and poetic perspective, connecting the rhythms of ancient and modern, and setting off the theme of the endless and continuous Chinese traditional context." Huang Zhijian said.
