Pang Na: I am an art teacher at Power Plant Road Primary School (Winter Olympic Primary School) in Shijingshan District, Beijing, and my name is Pang Na.
Pang Na: We have been designing the Winter Olympic torch since 2014, and there are some mascot designs, and every student from the first grade to the sixth grade has participated, feeling that the Winter Olympics are all around us, not as far away as we see on TV. In the early stage, I first drew an interest to everyone, looking for the Winter Olympic torch that they were interested in, and when they had a certain interest, they found their inspiration and then made it.
Ponna: Please use your brains to contribute to the Winter Olympics, draw your ideas on paper, and start.
Pang Na: Because our school is very close to the (Beijing) Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, there are many Winter Olympic activities, and this is one of them.
Ponna: Silk you can go through the whole from top to bottom.
Ponna: They were involved in the process of designing the torch, and they were able to collectively consult some materials and collaborate on their group tasks, which was very helpful to the younger students. At the beginning, I felt that the Winter Olympics were also very far away from me, from the beginning of learning to the later stage of design, I was growing up with the students, and I felt that I was also closer to the Winter Olympics.
Yang Zhiyuan: The Winter Olympic torch I designed uses silk, the upper side is the element of the bird's nest, the bottom is white and blue, the white snow-capped mountains, and the blue represents pure ice and snow.
Guo Yuxin: When you look at this work, it is particularly like a pole playing ice hockey, using "Chinese red" and the yellow of the Great Wall as a representative of color.
Li Zifan: The slope above the torch mouth is like a snow track, and the following one is the Chinese auspicious pattern "Xiangyun", and I use the color red of China's festivities.
Pang Na: At the same time, they have a certain sense of pride in learning knowledge, because they have gone through a long period of time from the early stage like this kind of design small draft, and then to the post-production into this kind of physical object, and it took some effort, and they are very happy to finish it.
Pang Na: (Beijing) The Organizing Committee of the Winter Olympics should have received a large number of works from our school, and I think our enthusiasm is very high, the preparation for learning in the early stage, and then the exchange and production in the later stage, as long as you participate in it, there will definitely be gains, and then I think this is also a spirit of the Winter Olympics.
