According to US media Shams-Charania, James's current plan is to continue to play for the Lakers for the foreseeable future:
"I personally haven't seen any scenes of LeBron James leaving the Lakers and switching to the Cavaliers, and I've been told his plan is to continue playing for the Lakers for the foreseeable future."
Even if there has been a lot of news about the deterioration of the relationship between James and the Lakers in recent times, from the perspective of the contract and the current Lakers lineup, James's continued stay is still the most likely situation.
