According to previous reports, the Timberwolves have officially reached a deal with the Cavaliers to send guard Ricky Rubio to Cleveland in exchange for Torrian Prince, a 2022 second-round pick and some cash.
Subsequently, the Timberwolves officially tweeted their gratitude to Rubio.

Rubio was selected by the Timberwolves with the 5th overall pick in the first round in 2009, but did not officially join the Timberwolves until the 2011-12 season due to contract issues with the home team. In the summer of 2017, the Timberwolves traded Rubio to the Jazz, and he has since played for the Suns, and in November 2020, Rubio returned to the Timberwolves again in a trade.
In the 2020-21 season, Rubio played in 68 regular season games, averaging 8.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.46 steals in 26 minutes, shooting 38.8%, 30.8% and 86.7% from the field.
