Schopenhauer: 10 tips for a happy life

Schopenhauer: 10 tips for a happy life

01 Happiness does not come uninvited

Careless young people may think that the world means pleasure, as if the real happiness in the world is everywhere; yet it is precisely these people who do not have happiness because their intellect is not enough to overcome the difficulties on the road of life.

When he read the works of poetic romanticism, that idea took firm root in his heart, and in fact he was deceived by the phenomena of the external world, which had utter hypocrisy.

His life is more or less always to seek the happiness of reality; and the happiness he understands is a series of definite pleasures.

In his quest for these happiness, he encountered danger.

02 Keep in mind those who have been in difficulty

When we live comfortably, we should not forget that we are trapped in a melancholy, dull, and confused predicament to teach us how to act correctly; when we enjoy a good and joyful time, this melancholy, dull, and confused dilemma should teach us to be humble and cautious.

For we generally judge ourselves according to our best and most beautiful moments, and in times of weakness, dullness, and confusion we regard it as not our essence.

Remembering those dilemmas and sometimes embarrassments will teach us humility, obedience, and tolerance.

03 Do not chase the illusion of life

People search for prey that does not exist, and suffer from real misfortunes—suffering, poverty, sickness, failure, want, sorrow, shame, and all the other hardships and hardships of life.

He finally saw through the prank that had deceived him—however, it was too late.

04 If you don't experience it, you don't understand

Just like an ascendant walker, only by crossing the winding road under his feet and looking around can he get a comprehensive overview.

Similarly, only by going through a certain stage in the journey of life can we recognize the true connection between all our actions and a clear understanding of what we have done and what we have received.

Only then can we understand the value of precise chains of cause and effect and all our efforts.

05 Only when you look back will you be able to wake up

As long as we are immersed in the daily chores of life, we can only act according to our own nature, always limited by emotions or abilities.

We are bound by the laws of nature from beginning to end, and we are always carrying out what we consider to be legitimate undertakings.

Only later, when we look back at the whole journey of life and its overall outcome, can we finally understand the whole mystery.

06 Others are my mirrors

Each of us sees in others a mirror that reflects ourselves, and from this mirror we can clearly see our sins, shortcomings, or all kinds of bad things.

Even so, most of us make dog gestures in the mirror, that is, we think that it is not ourselves in the mirror, but another dog, and yell at the mirror.

07 Life is not far away

Those who hope for the future, who strive for it, and who live only in the future, are always eager and impatient for the things that are coming, as if it were something that can be happy when they are reached, although those people are extremely intelligent and extraordinary.

Strictly speaking, they were nothing more than donkeys, being ridden under them, looking at the straw in front of them, and a momentum of hope that they would eventually get hay supported them, so they hurriedly chased after them.

That thing is always right in front of them, and they're always trying to get it.

08 Live in the moment

We should neither be restless or anxious about the future, nor should we indulge in regrets and regrets about the past, but we should firmly remember that only the present is real and certain; the future always invariably frustrates our hopes; and the past is often far from what we once predicted.

In short, neither the future nor the past is as good as we can imagine.

The same object, because of its spacing, is smaller to the naked eye, but the mind can imagine it as large.

Only now is it real; it is the only moment of reality, and it is in this unique moment that our existence is real.

Therefore, we should always be filled with joy for this, give it the welcome it deserves, and enjoy every moment of happiness to the fullest, freed from pain and trouble by being fully aware of its value.

We will not be able to do this if we are restless about the prospects for the future because we are sad about the disappointment of past hopes.

09 Don't envy others

Human happiness and happiness can often be compared to the woods: from a distance, it feels beautiful. However, if you go inside, the beauty disappears and you can no longer find it.

That's why we often envy others.

10 Don't be reckless in dealing with uncertainty

Life is full of uncertainty; there is so much pain, burden, disaster, and danger in all respects that only by carefully mastering the course and avoiding the reefs and shoals can we complete a peaceful and happy voyage of life.

In general, the fear of evil that we know about it forces us to fall into the opposite of evil.

For example, the pain of loneliness leads us to loneliness; we exchange a form of intimidating action for rash self-confidence, and so on.

In order to avoid an evil, one rushes to its opposite; for some extremely uncertain events, the lack of contemplation, the decision is too reckless.
