Without this enzyme, you can eat wildly and not be fat, is it too late to reincarnate now?

It's no secret that after experiencing appearance anxiety and weight anxiety, I have laid flat and stopped dwelling on the numbers on the scale. But I still can't help but silently envy the beautiful women in good shape while remaining skeptical about some bloggers' "naturally not fat" theory.

But a recent study proved that people who lack a certain enzyme have a natural advantage in body management and healthy metabolism, and I am a skeptic.

A recent article published in Gastroenterology titled "Loss of Sucrase-Isomalase Function Increases Acetate Levels in Greenland Cohorts and Improves Metabolic Health" demonstrated that sucrase-isomalase is a promising drug target for improving metabolic health through cohort studies and mouse experiments in two groups of people.

For most people, carbohydrates are one of the top three sources of nutrition. In the Eastern diet, it is mainly starch, while in the Western diet, the most abundant dietary sugar is sucrose.

Carbohydrates in the form of starch and sugar need to be broken down into simple sugars by α- amylase in the mouth, α-glucosidase in the small intestine, malta amylase (MGAM) and sucrase-isomaltase (SI) in order to pass through intestinal epithelial cells and be absorbed by the body. The c.273-274 delAG code-shifting variant in the sucrose isomaltase gene encoding sucrase-isomaltase (SI) in Arctic populations leads to a complete loss of sucrase-isomaltase (SI) function.

The study included two groups of people, the first group of 4922 Greenlanders living in Greenland (between 1999-2001 and 2005-2010), and the second group of 1629 Greenland samples based on population (2013). The results found that the frequency of the sucrase-isomaltase C.273_274delAG variants in the first and second groups was 14.2% (95% CI: 13.5-15.1) and 14.1% (12.8-15.3), respectively, and the homozygote carriers of the variant had significantly healthier metabolic characteristics compared with the rest of the population, including lower BMI, body weight, fat percentage, fasting triglycerides, and residual cholesterol. In addition, the study also confirmed by establishing a mouse model of sucrase-isomaltase knockout (Sis-KO) that compared with wild-type (Sis-WT) mice, sucrase-isomaltase knockout (Sis-KO) mice had significantly reduced weight gain (week 8, β =-3.06 g, P=0.029) and a lower percentage of body fat (week 8, β=-10.2%, P=0.0013).

As for its underlying mechanisms, the researchers suspect that the role of promoting healthy metabolism may be to increase the fermentation of undigested carbohydrates by colon bacteria, the loss of sucrase-isomalase (SI) function is unable to break down sucrose and isomaltose, and the body's inability to absorb it reduces the health risks associated with excessive consumption of sugar. However, for children who are deficient in this enzyme, it may lead to indigestion and severe gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain and bloating, which are not conducive to children's growth and development.

It can be seen that in our adult view, the genetic advantage of eating wildly and not being fat is a double-edged sword ( double-edged sword ) , and the real way is to give up illusions, rationally arrange meals and exercise plans, and double physical and mental cultivation in order not to be trapped by various anxieties.

"Hitting is kissing, scolding is love", conflict promotes sweet relationships?

The most wonderful thing about love is not only being able to do what you like with a like-minded lover, but also promoting the release of dopamine through physical contact.

Some people like the ordinary life of supporting each other, and some people like the warm and free feeling of adventure. Although there are different ways to get along, but couples or couples of conflict is inevitable, some people think that too much conflict is easy to hurt feelings, some people think that conflict is conducive to solving problems, so which statement is reasonable?

A recent study published in Cereb Cortex titled "Interpersonal Conflict Increases Interpersonal Neurosymlogy for Romantic Couples" revealed the underlying mechanism of the old saying "hitting is kissing, scolding is loving." What is interpersonal neurosymbiosis? The phenomenon of gradually aligning words and deeds between peers is called behavioral synchronization, and along with the interaction of concussions between the two sides of behavioral synchronization, neural activity is also synchronized, which is called interpersonal neurosymbiosis (INS).

The study recruited 22 opposite-sex couples and 22 intimate opposite-sex friends, and each pair of two participants interacted through three interactive sessions: a 5-minute mutual gaze session, a 5-minute touch session, and a discussion of supportive, neutral, and conflicting topics. At the same time, the participants' brain function activity was collected using near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) imaging techniques.

The results showed that compared with intimate opposite-sex friends, the interpersonal neurosymbiosis (INS) between the sensorimotor cortex was higher when talking about conflict topics than when discussing supporting topics, and interpersonal neurosymbial synchronization (INS) was also positively correlated with arousal levels, that is, through speech-led conflict interaction, emotional arousal could be improved, brain activity synchronization between couples was enhanced, and the strength of the love relationship between couples/couples was promoted.

It seems that the old saying also has an explainable neural mechanism, but this kind of conflict is based on solving problems, and if it involves verbal or behavioral violence against the other party, it should be taken seriously, after all, the so-called "conflict promotion relationship" is not an excuse for pua the other party.

Does a high-sugar diet increase the risk of cerebrovascular disease? I will never be happy again

Since I wrote in the last issue that eating sugary drinks increases the risk of early-onset colorectal cancer, I have "stayed away" from all kinds of sugary drinks and high-sugar diets, after all, I still want to be healthy and live a long life. A recent study found that a high-sucrose diet can cause cerebrovascular disease in mice, making me, a sweet tooth party, value quality of life more than my inner craving for sweets.

A recent study published in Science Advances titled "High Sucrose Diet Leads to Cerebrovascular Disease, Impaired Glucose Uptake, and Psychotic-Related High Brain Dysfunction in Mice" found that a high sucrose diet in adolescence induces psychosis-related behavioral endophotypes.

Previous studies have suggested that advanced glycation end products (AGEs) induce inflammation and oxidative stress in a variety of tissues, while glyoxalase I (GLO1) is a zinc metal enzyme that protects cells from toxic damage from AGEs. However, patients with bipolar disorder (BD) and major depressive disorder have a decrease in GLO1mRNA.

Therefore, four mouse models were established: wild-type mice fed starch (control group), mice fed high sucrose (environmental factors-environment), Glo1 heterozygous knockout (Glo1/+) mice fed starch (genetic factors), and Glo1/+ mice fed high sucrose (genetic factors× environmental factors) to explore whether Glo1/+ mice fed high sucrose were more susceptible to mental illness.

The results showed that Glo1/+ mice fed high sucrose developed psychiatric symptoms to a deeper extent. In addition, the researchers also explored the mechanism of psychiatric symptoms in Glo1/+ mice fed high sucrose in the accumulation of AGEs around the cerebrovascular endothelial cells and astrocytes in mice, which also validated the existing view. Taking low-dose aspirin (1 mg/kg/day) improved psychiatric symptoms in Glo1/+ mice fed high sucrose, meaning that taking low-dose aspirin helped relieve the psychiatric symptoms caused by high sucrose.

The rat age of the mouse experiment corresponds to the human adolescence, and also reminds us that although the majority of adolescent sweets are good, they should not be greedy, and they cannot be ingested simply for pleasure, otherwise they will fall into a dead cycle where only sweets will be happy, which will not only appear mental dependence, but also be detrimental to physical health.

Happiness comes to be "bald", eating more soybeans and nuts will help me prevent detachment?

Once upon a time, the self-deprecating "Golden Retriever King" hair king in the middle school era has now become our envy object, and when the workers and students of the party liver ddl grabbed a handful of hair and fell off, hair loss is getting younger and younger, young people are in danger, soaking goji berries in the thermos cup, staying up late to jump I don't go. In addition to relaxing the mind and relieving stress, what else can slow down the balding process?

A recent article published in the Journal Gut titled "Regulation of the Gut Microbiota Affects Dietary and Drug-Induced Hair Loss" found that soy and nuts help improve hair loss.

The study found through mouse experiments that mice treated with polysorbate-80 (P80- a common emulsifier) and antibiotics developed severe hair loss and had large bald plaques, and antibiotics exacerbated the P80-induced microbial composition, including exacerbating the cultivation of Akkermansia muciniphila (Akkermansia muciniphila) and inhibiting bifidobacterium longum (B. Longum) growth of bacteria. The mechanism is that damage to the intestinal barrier may weaken the protective effect of phytates in the diet, thus allowing the entry of mucin-degrading bacteria.

The rich phytates in soybeans and nuts can repair epithelial damage, which proves that eating soy and nuts can help alleviate hair loss. In addition, the study found that non-hair loss mice not only contained a higher proportion of mucus-protecting bacteria, but also contained microbiota capable of regulating energy expenditure and biosynthesis of essential amino acids. Low levels of essential amino acids in the blood of patients with androgen and hemorrhage suggest a possible association between hair loss and the production or acquisition of amino acids.

The researchers also found that the oral probiotic bacillus longum HK003 had a protective effect on emulsifiers and chemotherapy-induced hair loss. This provides new ideas for probiotics to regulate the gut microbiota to prevent or treat hair loss.

In order to make every strand of my hair beautiful, I had to hold high the banner of anti-shedding, dietary health, starting from me.
