The reactionaries will never understand what is the trend of the times and what the will of the people wants. After several months of rampant Banditry, the great leader Chairman Mao gave a sonorous and forceful order:
"We must sweep away the bandits by May 1, 1951!" "In the land of New China, not a single bandit can have it!"
Wei Xiuying was originally the wife of Zhang Ruigui, commander of the Kuomintang 63rd Army, Zhang Ruigui took Wei Xiuying from Nanning to Guangzhou to live, but her husband already had a new love in her family, she was not even an old love, Wei Xiuying was grumpy and unbearable, and returned to guangxi's hometown of 100,000 Mountains in a huff.
There are houses and land in his hometown, and there are also family members with guns to take care of the family nursing home, Wei Xiuying lived a few years of comfortable life, and slowly forgot Zhang Ruigui. At this time, Wei Xiuying probably never thought that he would one day become a bandit.
In the early days of the Liberation War, Chiang Kai-shek sent a telegram to Zhang Ruigui to lead the 63rd Army north to Xuzhou, and Zhang Ruigui saw that the Kuomintang army was gradually defeated and retreated, and did not want to become a victim of Chiang Kai-shek, so he withdrew from the military circles and went home to retire.
The common people of the old society
The so-called "trump cards" under Chiang Kai-shek not only fought endlessly among themselves, but also fought until the end of the war, hoping to preserve their own strength, and corruption was rampant, so it is no wonder that the Kuomintang was defeated.
Chiang Kai-shek did not want to let Zhang Ruigui go, and in 1949 a telegram asked him to go to the 100,000 Mountains to fight with our army. The 100,000 Mountains are dangerous, full of deep mountains and dense forests and steep cliffs, and have always been an excellent hiding place for bandits. Moreover, this place is close to Vietnam, offensive can be attacked, retreat can be defended, the Kuomintang is very concerned about this place, and put all its hopes on Zhang Ruigui.
Helplessly, Zhang Ruigui was very incompetent, and he had just arrived at the 100,000 Mountains and was preparing to send a telegram to Chiang Kai-shek, but before the telegram could be sent, he was ambushed by the guerrillas of our army, and then like a dog that lost his family, he was defeated from the Northwest Sea of Guangxi to Hainan.

Although the person was alive, but did not complete the task given by Chiang Kai-shek, there was no way to make a mistake, at this time Zhang Ruigui finally remembered Wei Xiuying, whom he had not been waiting to see.
Zhang Ruigui felt that Wei Xiuying had a family and a gun, which could allow Wei Xiuying to lead everyone to "fight a battle against the water", and maybe he could really defeat the People's Liberation Army and retake the mainland. So he sent someone to sneak into the 100,000 Mountains and handed over the handwritten letter to Wei Xiuying.
Zhang Ruigui had never fulfilled her husband's responsibilities for many years, and it was reasonable to say that Wei Xiuying should not accept his request, but after Wei Xiuying read the letter, he slapped the table and shouted: "I will never surrender to them!" ”

After Wei Xiuying finished patting the table, he found his cronies to discuss countermeasures, and decided to go to Qin County to recruit a team of people and horses to fight against our army, which also has the scene at the beginning of the article where Wei Xiuying sat in a palanquin and tied a shell gun around his waist.
In fact, why Wei Xiuying did this is still an unsolved mystery. However, from Wei Xiuying's later words and deeds, we seem to be able to find some clues.
Guangxi Beihai
The bandit plague on the 100,000 Mountains has not been eradicated, and many evil forces are still stirring. At the instigation of Wei Xiuying, more than 100 innocent people were killed, many members of the peasant association and cadres of our army were killed, countless cattle and grain were robbed, a large number of houses were burned down by bandits, and Wei bandits also owed a blood debt.
On March 2, 1950, Wei Xiuying's bandits heard that our army's task force was in Nayuan Village, so it launched a riot in the early morning of March 3, and more than 1,000 bandits surrounded Nayuan Village, and our army's task force fought fiercely with them until the afternoon, all the bullets were exhausted, and finally 27 people were killed and 15 people were captured.
The bandits took the captured fighters to the ditch and shot them, killing a total of 14 people, and one of the comrades escaped without dying.
At this time, Wei Xiuying had more than 5,000 people and more than 2,000 guns under her hands, and she was very arrogant in the area of the 100,000 Mountains, which made her feel invincible in the world.
The People's Liberation Army suppresses bandits
After the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, Wei Xiuying became even more frantic, and she excitedly told her subordinates: "World War III is about to break out, and the volunteer army cannot defeat the Americans." ”
Wei Bandit also made a painstaking analysis: When the volunteer army cannot defeat the Americans, it will not be able to take care of itself, there will be great chaos in the country, and the Kuomintang will soon be able to return to the mainland.
Under her advocacy and instigation, bandits were rampant in various parts of Guangxi, and bandits appeared to varying degrees in various regions, clamoring to subvert the nascent regime, and even daring to attack the local government in Guangxi, which made Wei Bandit feel that "the situation is very good."
When the Wei bandits were almost crazy, Chairman Mao firmly issued an order to suppress the bandits, and then the Central and Southern Military Regions quickly dispatched troops from Huguang and Guangzhou to Guangxi to participate in the suppression of the bandits, and the total strength of the bandits was as high as 200,000. Our army has focused on the 100,000 mountainous areas to suppress bandit areas, and we must eliminate all the remnants of these bandits who have brought calamity to the country and the people.
100,000 mountains
In December 1950, most of the rabble-rousers who could only roar and have no ability were wiped out, and the cold weather and the fierce offensive of our army made them have no confidence to continue to resist, and many bandits became more and more aware that there was only one way to die if they resisted.
At the end of 1950, Huang Huxian, commander of the 134th Division of the 45th Division, and Xie Jiaxiang, political commissar, led the troops into the 100,000 Mountains to comprehensively suppress bandits, and the 219th Division of the 21st Corps and a regiment of the Longzhou Military Region Division cooperated with them.
The bandit troops of our army moved quickly, and soon reached the area of 60,000 Mountains, 100,000 Mountains, and Fangcheng, and along the way, the momentum was like a bamboo, and it did not take a few days to crush Wei Xiuying's three troops in Hepu, Hengxian, and Lingshan. In the most difficult battle in Zhouwu Village, the People's Liberation Army fought fiercely with the bandits for one day and one night, killing nearly 300 bandits at the cost of sacrificing 23 people and wounding more than 70 people.

The bandit who resisted in Zhouwu Village was named Zhu Guangyu, and was a beloved general who was deeply respected by Wei Xiuying. Zhu Guangzuo had previously joined the Kuomintang and later joined the bandit gang, and it is said that this person is quite particular about fighting and knows quite well about strategy and tactics.
However, his little skill in carving insects is still not worth mentioning compared with our army, which has rich combat experience. Although Zhu Guangzu strictly guarded against the dead and tried everything to prevent our army from attacking, in the end he could not resist me, and Zhu Guangzu, seeing that the general situation was gone, could only leave those bandits as cannon fodder and run away with his cronies.
Zhu Guangyu ran all the way out to sea, and finally ran to Taiwan in a gray and slippery way, and Zhang Ruigui fled to Taiwan with him. They ran to Taiwan to become shrunken-headed turtles, and Wei Xiuying also lost most of his main force in this battle.
At the same time, our army began to encircle Wei Xiuying's bandits from three directions, forcing her to a place called Tantian Village. The terrain there was relatively steep, as well as the artillery towers and walled walls that had been built before, and Wei Xiuying's bandits were here to rely on the advantages of the terrain to prepare for stubborn resistance. The two sides fought bloodily for three days and three nights, and our army suffered 107 casualties, and every step forward had to pay a huge price.

After the bloody battle, our army still captured most of the houses in Tiantan Village, taking advantage, and the regimental headquarters issued an order for a general attack.
After the order was given, countless packages of explosives were thrown into the turret, and the bandits in the turret were blinded by the dust from the artillery. At this time, the commandos began to climb to the turret, and the dying bandits inside were eliminated one by one, and our army also paid a lot of casualties in this battle, but successfully eliminated more than 200 bandits.
However, after our army attacked the artillery tower, it did not find Wei Xiuying, and only later learned from the mouths of the captured bandits that Wei Xiuying had fled with a few cronies as early as the day after he fled to Tantian Village.
Wei Xiuying's next temporary shelter is near the Vietnamese town of Da Hon, which is close to Vietnam, and if our army comes to attack, she can flee from Da Hon Town to Vietnam.
The bandits continued to dream of the Spring and Autumn Period, feeling relieved at last, assuming that the People's Liberation Army was not a god, would not find them so quickly, how could it be a few days, and in these few days they would have the opportunity to rest for a while.

While Wei Xiuying was still planning his next move, the People's Liberation Army had already trekked day and night to the town of Dazhen, cutting off the bandits' back road.
The bandits fought against our army with their scalps, but these few people alone could not stop them, so they had to find a hidden spot nearby to hide, and our army surrounded the bandits and persuaded them to recognize the current situation, and it was not too late to surrender.

Two days later, a group of bandits raised a white flag and obediently surrendered to our army. And the reason why they wanted to surrender was because Wei Xiuying was running away again.
On December 14, 1950, Wei Xiuying, who could not advance and could not retreat, led the remnants to hide in the thick village of Dazhen Town, occupying the highest house in the village, in an attempt to rely on the commanding heights to stop the attack of our army.
At 11:00 a.m. on December 14, the People's Liberation Army launched a final charge on the houses occupied by Wei Xiuying in Nahou Village, while the bandits struggled desperately from the commanding heights.
Shells and machine guns fired in a salvo, hitting the bandits in disgrace, and the fierce battle was fierce until dusk, although the bandits' lair was not completely destroyed, but the bandits' rout was also in sight.

Our soldiers braved the rain of bullets and bullets to alternately cover the advance, and a small soldier with a quick action carried a grenade, took the lead in rushing to the dead corner of the bandit's house, climbed the roof with no one paying attention, and then threw the grenade into the bandit's nest neatly. After a deafening noise, there was no movement in the room, and everything was calm.
The warriors rushed into the house and found a charred Body of Wei Xiuying with several of his men lying next to him.
Wei Xiuying is dead, and China has since lost a scourge, and now we can return to the original question: Wei Xiuying helped Zhang Ruigui to do unjust things, and ended up in disgrace.
