Qu Qianmei, whose ancestral home is Ruian, Zhejiang, studied under the Ruian painter Mr. Qiu Yuren in 1979, then studied at Ruian Normal School, took a course in painting, participated in the youth painting exhibition organized by the Ruian Municipal Bureau of Culture, lived in France in 1985, continued the creation of Chinese painting, transformed into abstract oil painting in 2001, studied in the Materials Seminar of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2008, and studied in the Tempera High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2015.
After years of traveling between China and the West, Qu Qianmei has a rich and diverse artistic language. From Chinese painting and oil painting to Tempera, from the comprehensive use of ancient lacquer, clay and subordinate materials, she is unique among many Chinese contemporary artists by constantly broadening the possibilities of artistic materials.

In 1979, Qu Qianmei studied Chinese painting under Mr. Qiu Yuren, and her years of studying ink painting have always maintained a sense of history and thickness unique to ancient Chinese culture.
In 1985, Qu Qianmei chose to leave her hometown of Ruian, Zhejiang Province, and moved to France to carry out a new chapter in her life.

Since 2001, Qu Qianmei has transformed from Chinese painting to oil painting, and began to delve into abstract art and material research. In order to gain a more systematic and scientific understanding, she returned to China in 2005 to study in the Materials Seminar of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and in 2015, she studied Tambera in depth.
In this long cultural accumulation and heavy life experience, Qu Qianmei completed the long journey and return of an artist in France.

The toughness and mottledness of Qu Qianmei's early paintings is a visual representation of her observation of the world, and she externalizes the thinking and experience of the object, forming what Mondrian calls "the continued existence of the painted thing", which is also what Merlot Ponty called "the vision of this thinking transformed into action in an instant".
That is to say, Qu Qianmei's works are based on two dimensions of thinking, namely the thinking of the mind and the thinking of vision.

In recent years, Qu Qianmei has been active in art exhibitions and exchange activities around the world, and has won the favor of collectors for her unique artistic language. She has held solo exhibitions in Paris, Beijing, Shanghai, Taiwan and other places, and her works have been collected by UNESCO, rouen Cathedral in Paris, France, Ville de Castellon, the Bavel Art Fund, and collectors and art institutions in France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Singapore, China and other countries and regions.
