9.83 seconds! In the men's 100m semifinals of the Tokyo Olympic Games yesterday, Su Bingtian's performance gave the Chinese people a huge surprise. This result also made him the 12th fastest person in human history in 100 meters (Italy's Jacobs, who won the championship after the final, surpassed the 13th).
The current human limit is undoubtedly still being maintained by Jamaican flyer Usain Bolt. He ran 9.57 seconds at the World Championships in Athletics in Berlin on August 16, 2009. Tied for second place are American Tyson Guy and Jamaican John Blake, both of whom have a time of 9.69 seconds.
