Moreover, he and Ma Sanli are friends with hardships, he is Liu Baorui, he is the cross-talk master who really pushed cross-talk to the public, and after listening to his cross-talk, the chairman happily threw away the cigarette butt in his hand.

Liu Baorui was born in 1915 in Beijing. Liu Baorui has liked crosstalk since childhood, he not only likes to listen to crosstalk, but also likes to say crosstalk, and began to learn to speak crosstalk with a teacher at a very young age.

When he was thirteen years old, he made a special trip to Tianjin, the birthplace of crosstalk, to learn cross-talk and studied under Zhang Shouchen. There is always a big gap between reality and ideals, in fact, Liu Baorui is not suitable for cross-talk, because his voice is suddenly high and low.

Since his childhood family was poor, he began to be exposed to the art of cross-talk at the age of nine, often wandering between Beijing Tianqiao and Dong'an Market cross-talk field, and once studied art with Chongshoufeng. In 1937, he went to Jinan Guangming Tea Society to perform, during which he choreographed and performed "Housework" and "Han Fuyu's Speech". Liu Baorui's cross-talk draws on the advantages of sister arts such as one-man shows, commentaries, films, and dramas, and boldly innovates and creates, forming a unique artistic style. In particular, he is known as the "stand-up king". Liu Baorui has made important contributions to the creation of new cross-talk, the excavation and collation of traditional cross-talk, and the development and improvement of stand-up comedy performance art. Representative works: "When the Line theory", "Riddle of the Lamp", "Good, Good". In 1949, he married Zhao Yuehua and became a family in Nanjing.

In 1960, the Central Radio Rap Ensemble set up a cross-talk study class, recruiting more than a dozen students, tutored by Liu Baorui, and later most of these students became the backbone of various professional literary and art groups. In order to cultivate Ma Ji's mastery of traditional passages, when recording passages such as "Looking for a Church Meeting" and "Picking Horse Coats", Liu Baorui praised Ma Ji and taught many traditional cross-talk to Ma Ji and Tang Jiezhong. In the early 1960s, together with Hou Baolin and Ma Ji, he often went to Zhongnanhai in Beijing to give special performances for Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, and other party and state leaders, and was cordially received many times.

On the afternoon of October 6, 1968, he was criticized on the spot while working in Fangshan Road Village, Beijing, and died that night at the age of 53. After Liu Baorui's death, his body was hastily buried, and so far there has been no result, leaving only the crown tomb buried in beijing's Chaoyang Cemetery.

It is the misfortune of a generation of masters.
