Harry Kane was told he should emulate Wayne Rooney's approach in a slump at United

Harry Kane was charged a high price when he moved to Manchester City in the summer.

England captain and City target Harry Kane has been urged to follow United's example of great Wayne Rooney.

In this summer's transfer saga, Kane's dream move to Etihad Stadium was cancelled and, ultimately, he was forced to promise Spurs his future.

Scoring goals has not been easy for the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner this season.

In fact, the national team captain has yet to kick off at the 2021/2022 World Cup, although he has already scored six goals at home and at the European Championship.

Kane has scored 41 goals in 65 games in England and has scored in all three of his games for the Three Lions during his break in September.

He didn't score a single goal in Tuesday night's game against Hungary, with former Blackburn striker Chris Sutton advising Kane to unleash Rooney's potential.

Of course, as a record-breaking goalscorer for Manchester United and England, the Derby county manager missed the peak of 2010 la Liga giants Barcelona.

"It's not that the killer Kane won't be back. You may remember Wayne Rooney's decline in form when he almost left Manchester United in 2010, when Guardiola wanted him to join Barcelona.

Kane went through something similar. Guardiola wants him to stay at Manchester City and he imagines himself getting the opportunities created by De Bruin and others.

Rooney himself has said that he can't help but imagine himself as the leader of the team. He eventually stayed at Manchester United but scored just 11 Premier League goals in 2010/2011 and 16 in all competitions.

However, he soon recovered. In the 2011/2012 season, he scored 27 points in the league, for a total of 34 points.

"It's no secret that Kane's unhappy season at Tottenham is no secret. It didn't help him at all, he now has a coach named Nuno San Espirito who doesn't play the most offensive. We think he'll be fine in his England jersey. He is the striker chasing Wayne Rooney's goal record in international matches. ”
