But many times, we overestimate human nature, we overestimate the goodness of human nature, and underestimate the evil of human nature. Condemning the victims is a universal evil in this society.
This is the true story that happened to me.
A new group of college students came to our unit, including several female college students. One of the female college students entered the eyes of a leader. The dining process was relatively harmonious, and the leader politely invited the guests to go to the KTV for recreation at the end of the meal, and the guests readily agreed.
The climax of the story comes.
The female college student did not refuse to continue her pastimes and came to KTV with everyone. This female college student was originally a poor person with children in a poor place, and had never been to such a place, and at this time she really did not sit or stand, so she was busy pouring wine for everyone. While everyone else was singing and drinking, his leader pulled her aside, persuading her to drink, talk, and move her feet. Frightened, she tried to rush out several times, but failed, and finally she secretly sent a message to help the classmates he had joined together before she was able to leave.
The next day, she reported the matter to her family and a certain leader of the unit, and finally through the good offices of this leader, the leader who used her hands and feet gave moral compensation, and the matter was also calculated.
I thought that the matter was solved and everyone could stop some, but I never expected that this female college student had become the object of condemnation and ridicule by many people in the unit. They said the female college student was too pretentious, that she had nothing to do, that she had put the leader together, that she was just for money. Not only that, many people in the unit have formed prejudices against her, as long as it is any news or anything related to her, they will amplify and understand and spread it.
It is said to be called the "victim guilt theory". How can a person who has no sin and is not at fault be "punished"? This is the view of the "victim guilt" worshippers.
In fact, in my opinion, the reason why these people no longer sympathize with the victims and have no compassion in their hearts:
One is because they haven't been hurt, they haven't been hurt twice by someone else after they've been hurt, and they're like standing on the shore watching the people who fell into the water—who let you go to the river and drowned.
The second is the fear in their hearts, in their subconscious that the victim can continue to be hurt, there is no danger, they think that continuing to hurt the victim, can please the abuser, can reduce the risk.
