【"Temple" and "Temple" Combination】
Taiping Temple in Shengzhou Changle Town Taiping Village, is an influential temple and temple complex in eastern Zhejiang, its predecessor is to commemorate the Northern Song Dynasty famous Minister Wang Anshi "Wang Wen Gong Ancestral Hall", also known as "Taiping Township Main Temple", because Wang Anshi has come here, for the local people have done a lot of good things, people spontaneously built a temple statue for him. In order to meet the rising Buddhist activities, on September 8, 1993, with the approval of the relevant municipal departments, the temple was changed to a temple, but the temple and idol dedicated to Wang Anshi still exist, and many good men and women still come here to worship Wang Anshi.
Taiping Temple in the field 1 mile away from Taiping Village, in the flat and open idyllic scenery, the ancient temple looks particularly clean. The mountain gate of the temple still follows the rules of the old temple, and there are still three classes and six rooms of deacons in the mountain gate, but the plaque of "Taiping Temple" hangs under the eaves of the mountain gate, which shows that this place is already "Taiping Temple". The three large characters of the three plaques of the Taiping Temple were written by Liu Wenxi, a famous figure painter from Sheng, and vice chairman of the China Artists Association.
Passing through the mountain gate is a cobblestone patio with stone incense burners and candlesticks dedicated to Wang Anshi, flanked by box rooms. On the front stands a single-storey temple commemorating Wang Anshi, at both ends of the main ridge of the temple are dragons with curled tails, and under the eaves hang three plaques, a gold character on a red background in the middle, which reads "Eight Strands of Wenzong", on the left is "The Spirit of The Distant Journey", and on the right is "Doing Good and Accumulating Virtue". Stepping up the three stone steps is the temple, and the temple is enshrined in the temple where the mud statues of the township lord Wang Anshi and his wife are enshrined on both sides of the temple hall with statues of civil and military judges and town hall gods, adding a bit of spirit to the main hall. In front of the statue, there is a special wooden carved statue of Wang Anshi, which is specially used for the deity when traveling.
On the left is a straight plaque of "Wang Wengong Temple" written by Liu Jiangong, former deputy political commissar of the Lanzhou Military Region. Liu Jiangong was the son-in-law of Xing Lezhong, the former township magistrate of Taiping Township. The plaque was written by him on July 30, 1992. The east and west corners of the hall are the "Dream General" and the "Heavenly Doctor Ancestor", which is the place where Wang Anshi gave people dreams before liberation, and every year on the night before the winter solstice, there were endless people who came to ask for dreams, and they lay on the ground and lay down until dawn in order to get a dream.
In the main hall, there are eight pairs of Yang Lianzhi, all of which praise Wang Anshi's achievements in reforming and changing the law, which is intriguing. On the walls on both sides of the front of the main hall, there are two stone reliefs embedded in each, the upper left end is "Weishui River", and the lower one is "Nine Lions Rejoicing"; The upper right end is "King Wen pulling a cart", and the lower one is the "Eight Juns Rolling" figure, which is a valuable historical relic.
At the foot of the right wall of the main hall, there stands an ancient stone carved cat, one meter high, with a leopard's head and a bear's body, which is an ancient sacred beast. It is said that hundreds of years ago, there was a farmer in Nanshan Who dreamed that the divine beast Cat had taken away a small pig in his family, and when he woke up to the pig pen, the piglet was gone, only a pool of blood.
He quickly picked up a wooden stick and searched for the little blood left on the ground, and even went to the temple of the township lord, and saw that there was still blood left in the corner of the mouth of a stone carving cat guarding the door of the temple, and he could not help but get angry from his heart, picked up the wooden stick with his hand, and beat it fiercely, and broke the stone carving cat high, and the head of the temple saw the situation and asked the farmer to compensate, and the farmer argued according to reason, but there was no help in everything, only to ask the stone carving artist to re-carve one, which is the origin of this stone carving cat.
On the corridor on the west side of the Taiping Temple, there are five old and new stone tablets, recording the rise and fall of the main temple of the township. Behind the main hall of the township is an open space, in front of which stands the "Daxiong Treasure Hall" and "Daxiong Treasure Hall" built in 2001, which are the most important buildings of the Buddhist temple and the center of the whole temple, "Daxiong" is the Buddhist honorific title for Shakya, that is, the meaning of "great warrior" of "all fearlessness", giving people a solemn and majestic atmosphere, "Daxiong Treasure Hall" plaque with gold characters on a blue background, concise and solemn, written by Master Wu Dao, president of the Shaoxing Buddhist Association, and Xing Ruifeng, the legal representative of Taiping Temple.
The main hall towers on a stone platform surrounded by stone-carved railings, and in front of the main hall is a wide staircase with a double dragon play bead. The main hall is 18 meters high, 25 meters wide and 22 meters deep, and is the architectural style of the top of the mountain, with two floors, apricot yellow walls, 16 tall ochre red lattice windows and doors, with yellow glazed tiles, orbs on the main ridge and dragon-shaped partridge kisses at both ends, showing the majesty of the hall. The cornices of the main hall are gently angled, and the hanging ridge is decorated with beasts. It is said that the beasts on the vertical ridge are called "Mocking Wind", the third son of the "Nine Sons of the Dragon", and they are dangerous and good-looking, these beasts are arranged in a one-way line, standing at the front of the vertical ridge, led by a "fairy" riding a bird, followed by dragons, phoenixes, lions, pegasus, seahorses, foxes, fish, badgers, bullfights and xingshi. They were placed in a strict hierarchical system, and only the Taihe Hall of the Forbidden City in Beijing could be complete, and the secondary halls had to be reduced accordingly. The Taiping Temple's Daxiong Treasure Hall is five, which can also be regarded as a high-level one. It is said that the mocking wind symbolizes auspiciousness, beauty and majesty, and has the meaning of threatening demons and eliminating disasters.
The spacious Daxiong Treasure Hall, with red as the main color lined with golden Buddha statues, red Buddha lamps, and long hanging flags embellished with red lotuses on an apricot yellow background, give people a brilliant affinity. The statue in the middle of the main hall is Shakyamuni, and the total height of the whole statue with backlight is 10 meters, and the actual height of the Buddha's whole body is 5 meters. Shakyamuni had dark blue curly hair, his eyes were looking down, his ears were hanging on his shoulders, his face was compassionate, solemn, wise, and quiet, and he was sitting cross-legged on a lotus flower barefoot, preaching the scriptures. According to the Huayan Sutra, Shakyamuni was born from his mother's right flank and fell on a lotus flower, and the lotus flower symbolizes purity, so the statues of Shakyamuni in the temple usually sit on the lotus seat. The statue standing close to Shakyamuni is an arhat, the oldest one on the left is called Gaya, and the young one on the right is called Ananda, all of whom were the great disciples of Shakyamuni during his lifetime, and there are indeed people in history.
