At the age of 6, Emily Arthur jumped on snowboarding for the first time, and she wanted to be as passionate about skiing as her father and brother. A natural sports talent, Emily made her World Cup debut in Cardrona, New Zealand, in August 2013. After winning the bronze medal at the 2014 World Junior Championships, Emily made her debut at the 2015 World Snowboard Championships, finishing 16th. At the 2016 Youth Winter Olympics, Emily tasted olympic glory for the first time and was appointed as the flag bearer of the opening ceremony. At the age of 16, Emily won a silver medal in the women's snowboard u-shaped pool competition and 14th place in the slope obstacle course. The following year, she finished in the top 10 for the first time at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics Test Match in February 2017. Emily competed in her second World Championships in sierra Nevada, Spain, where she finished 17th.
Prior to the 2018 Winter Olympics, Emily finished her career-best sixth at the World Cup in December 2017. Emily, 18, made her debut at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and is the best performer in the Australian snowboard u-pool event. After reaching the final of the 12-man contestants in eighth place, Emily unfortunately failed to complete her goal and completed her debut with a finish of 11th place. In the 2019 season, she won several performances in the top 15. In early 2021, Li, now 22, achieved her best World Championship result to date in Aspen, Colorado.
