💿 Beyond the Sidelines of Action and Intervention : A New Book of Lima's Dream: Xiaoyu's Latin American Notes

Destination: Shanghai Shangsheng New Institute Tsuruya Bookstore

The word "world," in just a few short years, has become increasingly distant, illusory, and irrelevant.

With the continued impact of the pandemic, the tightening of the international situation, and the escalation of conflicts in the region, we are experiencing a comprehensive "isolation" from geography to psychology, and the brave new world that "globalization" promised us seems to be falling apart. Young people are the groups most affected by this and are most likely to make breakthroughs.

Lv Xiaoyu, author of the new book 010 "Lima's Dream: Xiaoyu's Latin American Notes", entered a Peruvian election with confusion about academics, self and life during his doctoral studies, and has since seen the charm of "live" and the importance of "action". In addition to letting us see the keywords of Peru, politics, and academia, this book also allows us to see Xiaoyu, as well as young people who have been equally confused and want to make similar attempts with him: how to find their place? How to go beyond the sidelines and enter the scene? How do you find a path to practice in action? What is real life?

In order to present Xiaoyu's experience and thinking more comprehensively, and in order to let more young people join the discussion, Shan Yu especially invited the author Xiaoyu and the anchor of "Suddenly Left and Right" Cheng Yanliang at the beginning of the new year to talk about the charm of those conflict zones and what attracted him to the scene repeatedly; combined with my research on international conflicts, the actual experience of participating in the observation of conflict zones was specially invited to talk about the methods of intervention and action.

A political science student in a career crisis, faced with academic and life confusion, accidentally got the opportunity to go to Peru, joined a presidential candidate's campaign team, and personally practiced what "doing politics" means.

In the process, fragments of the history of Peru and Latin America continue to flash, and the author's textual knowledge and practical experience continue to collide, and he rethinks questions about political practice, academic significance, and real life.

This book is not only a personal record of the author's practice and travel notes, but also a sincere reflection of a young person on his relationship with the world, knowledge and action. In a trance-like Lima dream, there is a possibility of more thinking and action.
