The 99-year-old Yang Fangze, the son of a small merchant in Chongqing who made bean blossom salt brine, was admitted to the Japanese Department of the Military Chinese Research Class of the Political Department of the Military Commission in 1943 when he graduated from junior high school. This seminar was founded by General Zhang Zhizhong, and the Japanese department in it was to cultivate professional civilian personnel who broke the morale of the Japanese army on the battlefield and consumed the morale of the enemy. After a year of schooling, Yang Lao was assigned to the 55th Regiment of the New 19th Division of the 46th Army, carrying a loudspeaker to participate in the Defense of Guilin and the Battle of Lianjiang, and was surrendered to Hainan Island after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.
Captured in the Battle of Laiwu during the civil war, he worked as a casual worker in Nanning to earn a living for himself, became a hydropower mechanic by self-taught, and was framed as a "Japanese agent" during the Cultural Revolution, and was sent to labor camp for more than 10 years, devastated, and then worked in the Guangxi Exhibition Center until retirement.
Many of the details dictated by Yang Fangze's veterans make up for some of the gaps in the history of the War of Resistance. Elder Yang said: After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, I really did not want to go home, because I did not become a hero who made meritorious contributions to killing the enemy, and I had no face to see my father and elder in the family.

Wu Shanwei, whose ancestral home is Guigang, is an old man with a childlike crane hair, and he does not see that he is 94 years old.
Wu Lao lost his father as a child, the family was very difficult, at the age of 14 he left home to join relatives in Liuzhou, and at the age of 16 he went into exile in Guilin. Seeing that the Second Regiment of Automobile Driving Education of the Central Army was recruiting cadets for automobile soldiers, he resolutely applied for the examination and was admitted, trained in Bijie, Guizhou until 1944, and then changed to the 200th Division Tank Corps Teaching Corps, becoming a tank soldier, and soon after the victory of the War of Resistance.
During the civil war, Wu Shanwei, who did not want to fight his own people, ran back to his hometown on desertion, and was admitted to the Guangxi Traffic School in 1951, and after graduation, he was assigned to work at the Baise Bus Terminal until retirement.
Old Wu's articulate thinking is extremely meticulous. Elder Wu said: The first time I saw my old mother after eight years of leaving home, I would not communicate with the old man in my hometown dialect!
