The yi folk society's performance in Wuhan, from April 1921 to October 1922, lasted for a year and a half, and it was a great success and acclaim. In this atmosphere of praise and great joy, Mr. Sun Renyu was ordered to go to Shanghai and other places to investigate education, and when he returned, he went to Wuhan to visit colleagues of the Yi Folk Society, and the cast and crew deeply felt the wisdom of the decision-making of the Wuhan trip and the abundance of the harvest, so they enthusiastically and sincerely expressed their respect and admiration for Mr. Sun Renyu with a white copper hookah engraved with "Sun Renyu's Save - a gift from all the students of Class A" and a copper hand stove.
Of course, Sun Gong attached great importance to these two gifts of special significance, and they were solemnly preserved for 44 years in the hands of his relatives before his death and after his death. What Sun Gong did not expect was that in 1966, the Cultural Revolution, the raging flames suddenly rose, and the family helplessly threw the hookah bag that was in danger of being confiscated into the deep well in the courtyard, until ten years later, the chaos was rectified, the situation changed, and Sun Gong's grandchildren Yongkang, Yongkuan, Yongning, etc., used a water pump to drain the well water and fished it out, so that the hookah was seen again. Although there was a small damage, it was not a big problem after repair, and the good intentions were finally soothed and compensated. Sun Gong's hookah is not only a personal souvenir, but has experienced the ups and downs of history, and it seems not too much to call it a theatrical relic, because it records the precious glory of the "century-old brand" Xi'an Yi Folk Society and the haze that will never be engraved as a contemporary Chinese.
