MAISON COURVOISIER unveils a new look and appoints its seventh chief bartender

JANAC, France, February 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Maison Courvoisier was founded in 1828 by Félix Courvoisier with a founding belief in celebrating the joy of every day. Today, with the launch of a new event hosted by artist and designer Yinka Ilori, the most award-winning cognac winery* embarks on a delightful journey to pay homage to tradition and embrace the future. This month, Courvoisier also announced the retirement of patrice Pinet, the sixth chief bartender, and carefully selected his successor, seventh chief bartender Thibaut Hontanx, and announced a new look that brought attention to the concept of the design since the 1700s.

Courvoisier is proud to welcome Yinka Ilori as its "Ambassador of Joy" – a character created specifically for the colorful storyteller. London-based multidisciplinary artist Ilori is renowned for incorporating themes into his British Nigerian background, creating unique and memorable stories through modern design. Courvoisier embodies the French belief in a unique way to taste the true joys of life, and Ilori was inspired by the "We Found Joy" campaign, a series of fully immersive global events that will bring to life the summer beauty of the Courvoisier house in Janac, France. The event will launch in New York City on March 3, 2022, and will tour multiple cities around the world later this year.

"For me, the essence of happiness is the use of color. It makes people laugh, it reunites people, it gives people a sense of natural joy," yinka Ilori said. "Like Courvoisier, each of my works is inspired by community and celebrates the spirit of collective strength. I am delighted to have been appointed as the "Joy Ambassador" of Maison Courvoisier and look forward to introducing the world to the "We Found Joy" campaign, a concrete manifestation of the warm summer days in Janak, France." ”

Maison Courvoisier also pays tribute to the tradition of Patrice Pinet, who will retire from his sixth position as chief bartender this month. Pinet joined Maison Courvoisier in 1989 as Production Manager and was appointed Chief Bartender in 2009. Many of his achievements have been revered by Courvoisier and others. Under his leadership, Maison Courvoisie has become the most award-winning cognac winery*, creating the winery's most lavish performance – L'Essence de Courvoisier.

This year, Courvoisier will redefine the cognac category and launch a new brand world that embodies the French belief in the "joy of life". Pinet's realization of this vision has been a pivotal figure. Pinet's legacy will continue to be carried forward for many years to come, and he proudly selected Thibaut Hontanx to succeed him as Chief Bartender, passing on his heritage, craftsmanship and innovation. Hontanx has always been an integral member of the Courvoisier family, and prior to that he worked as a master brewer in Courvoisier.

Thibaut Hontanx said: "I feel very privileged to continue to realize the dream of Maison Courvoisier. As the latest caretaker of our unique series of cognacs, I will continue to support Maison's commitment to the community. Because every drop of our cognac comes from a collective effort, from viticulturists to winemakers, we value our tightly knit group of artisans in Yanak. ”

With the release of the Maison Courvoisier series, the latest packaging will also be unveiled around the world for use in the award-winning product portfolio. This new shape rediscovers the unique code that has made The Courvoisier a symbol of the Belle Époque over the centuries, adding luster to European royal courts from the opening of the Eiffel Tower to the 20th century.

Maison Courvoisier Jon Potter, Managing Director, said: "We are entering a new era for Courvoisier and this is an exciting time for us at Maison as we go back to our roots and embrace everything that was created by Félix Courvoisier on Courvoisier. From our home in Janac to our beautiful floral cognac portfolio, our winery wants to welcome everyone. ”

Savoring a refined history in every bite, the Courvoisier collection is expertly distilled, aged and blended, incorporating Maison's award-winning signature floral style, revealing the intricate nuances that are influenced by the lives and joys of the Cognac region and its people. The combination of an extensive stone plate, precision distillation and signature oak selection offers an extremely balanced and vibrant range of products, including VS, VSOP, XO, and L'Essence de Courvoisier – the ultimate presentation of the winery.

As a cross-category cognac, Courvoisier can be drunk during the festive day with seasonal cocktails such as The Gala.
