IP waterproofing testing industry
In fact, the industry has corresponding protection level standards for electronic products such as smart phones, communication equipment or automotive equipment, such as

All will stipulate the requirements for the IP rating test of electrical and electronic equipment, and some mobile phones claim to have an IP68 protection rating, which is defined as follows, where:
The first characteristic value is 6, which represents the dustproof level, and the value is from 0-6, of which 6 is the highest dust density level;
The second characteristic value is 8, which represents the waterproof level, the value is from 0-9, where 8 indicates the continuous immersion level, which is defined by the manufacturer, but the severity is greater than 7, and the 7th level is defined as the use of diving tanks in GB/T 4208-2017, and the water surface has at least 0.15m above the top of the shell, and the bottom surface of the shell is at least 1m under the water surface for 30min.
Combining the current GB/T 4208-2017, GB/T 30038-2013 and IEC 60529:2013 standards, looking at the second characteristic value, each waterproof level can be divided into IPX0 ~ IPX9/9K, and the test content can be shown in Table 8 of GB/T 4208-2017
Among them, GB/T 30038-2013 and ISO 20653:2013 have IPX9K, IPX6K, IPX4K grades, while GB/T 4208-2017 does not, with K and without K where the difference is? With K should be the spray water pressure requirements, such as IPX9K spray water pressure to reach 8 ~ 10MPa.

IPX1 is a vertical drip test, the test method is to place the sample table at 1r/min according to the normal working position of the specimen, the distance from the top of the sample to the drip is not more than 200mm, and the drip amount is 1.0+0.5mm/min for 10 minutes.
IPX2 is inclined 15 ° drip test, the method is to put one face of the sample and the vertical line into a 15 ° angle, the distance from the top of the sample to the drip is not more than 200mm, after each test of one face, change to another face, a total of four times. The drip amount is 3.0+0.5mm/min for a total duration: 4×2.5min = 10min.

The above is the test conditions and equipment of all the IP waterproofing tests currently available in the North Beta Group, after the test is completed, check the water ingress of the shell, and the assessment status is as follows:
1. The water inlet cannot affect the normal damage of the equipment or destroy the safety;
2, water does not accumulate on special insulation components;
3. Water does not enter the live parts or does not enter the components that are not allowed to operate in a humid environment;
4, water does not enter or accumulate near the cable or thread;
5. There is a shell with a water discharge hole, the water inlet does not accumulate and can be discharged without damaging the equipment;
6. The accumulation of water without drainage holes shall not endanger the charged parts.
