In The Division: Heartland, there will be two game modes, "Storm" for PPVE and "Excursion" for pure PVE. In the game, "Excursion" mode is somewhat similar to the "Storm" mode's pre-tutorial or preparation.

In Excursion mode, players can team up with their friends to learn how to play the game by sweeping, looting, exploring, and fighting against enemy AIs on a large map called "Silver Creek." Of course, the most important thing in the game is the "Storm" mode with PVP gameplay, which is somewhat similar to "Escape from Tarkov", players need to fight other players and AI from the map, and finally survive and bring the looted materials back to their base.

"Silver Creek" is a large open world where gambling gas spreads from random locations to hinder player activity, so players need to look for making gas masks to keep themselves safe and prevent themselves from entering the "DBNO state" when exploring the map. The loot in the game also continues the characteristics of the Division series, divided into gray, green, blue, purple and gold levels.

There are currently six characters to choose from in The Division: Heartlands, 3 males and 3 females, with no distinction other than appearance. Once you've chosen a character, you'll be able to choose three different classes, Named Weapon Expert, Medic, and Survivalist.

Weapon experts can mark enemies for 5 seconds after hitting them, and can have armor that can repair teammates and themselves; medical staff can hide behind bunkers to restore their health, and have medical packs to restore health to teammates; survivors can detect uncharted loot chests around them, providing teammates with a gambling gas filter.
